Rebirth with the Beast Chapter 123 (End)

Chapter 123

As they passed by Tang Yu’s house, they happened to see Kexike sneaking out. Kexike was Tang Yu’s little dragon cub, now three and a half years old and just able to take human form.

The name "Kexike" had been given by Old Taylor. As the firstborn, Tang Yu doted on him endlessly, agonizing over the perfect name for so long that the child went over a year without one. Eventually, Old Taylor couldn’t stand it anymore and stepped in to name him.

Most of the young orcs in the valley disliked Kexike. Despite being only three and a half, he was stronger than any of them. On top of that, he was wildly popular among the valley’s females, especially those with young females in their families, they always tried to push their little females to play with him.

As a result, Kexike had made countless enemies at a young age, and his social standing was abysmal.

When Suno spotted Kexike, he tugged at Lore’s fur, signaling him to slow down. Tilting his head, Suno greeted him.

    "Kexike, where are you going?"

Suno was still too young to grasp the distinction between females and orcs. To him, Kexike was just another kid his age, and their mothers were good friends, so he always said hello.

Kexike ignored him, stomping off on short legs. Lately, his mother’s pregnancy had made him temperamental, and he’d finally escaped his clutches, he wasn’t about to waste his freedom.

Eli frowned, irritated by Kexike’s attitude. How dare he brush off Suno? Suno was adorable!

Suno, however, didn’t mind. He pinched Lore’s fur with his small white hand, and Lore resumed walking.

The other kids exchanged glances before following Eli to catch up with Suno. Their job was to protect him, so dealing with Kexike could wait.

Suno wanted to visit Mino’s house. With so many newcomers in the tribe lately, Mino had been busy treating the injured and couldn’t always look after his own little son, Jili. Suno wanted to help, even though he was just a little bun himself, he could at least keep Jili from wandering off.

Jili, not yet two, was an adorable little winged lion like his father.

When they arrived, only Dilson and Jili were home. After Lore brought Suno inside, the other young orcs' mission was accomplished, they left with Eli to play.

By evening, Eli returned to take Suno home. At nearly seven, Eli was already as mature as a ten-year-old by human standards.

Thanks to the valley’s peaceful, well-fed life, the young orcs were all sturdy and robust. By three, they could start learning to hunt with their fathers. Eli, now a skilled little hunter, often joined others in tracking game near the valley. Though they could only take down a single beast together, they never tired of the thrill.

A few days later, Ed arrived with a group of winged panthers. Since their joint effort against the wandering orcs, the Impreza tribe had grown friendly with the valley’s residents. Ed took advantage of this to visit frequently, partly to learn new skills and strengthen ties between their tribes.

Last year, one panther had even chosen to stay in the valley after falling for a local female.

This time, Ed brought five females, his intentions obvious. Among them was one with a delicate constitution, often sickly, so he had never found a suitable mate. Though frail, he was kind and gentle. As the new leader, Ed didn’t want to see him struggle alone, so he brought him here, hoping he would find someone.

The others included a proud beauty who’d never taken a liking to any orc and one with a leg injury whose betrothed had abandoned him. In short, they were all "problem cases."

Not that Ed was deliberately dumping troubles on the valley, he was just testing the waters, especially since many new orcs had recently arrived. If no matches were found, he would take them back.

The moment the Impreza orcs appeared, they drew stares, especially from the young, unattached orcs.

The five females shrank back shyly behind their tribesmen. Before coming, Ed had explained the purpose of this trip. Though nervous, they couldn’t help stealing glances around.

Surprisingly, the proudest female was the first to find someone he liked. Back when he was in the tribe, he had scorned every suitor. Yet here, he zeroed in on one orc immediately. Boldly, he stepped forward and walked straight up to him.

Su Yi, busy with work, wandered over to watch the commotion. To his shock, the beauty had set his sights on an unknown orc - a scar-faced, cold-eyed winged wolf who lived outside the valley after facing opposition from residents.

The female, with peach-blossom eyes and long legs, still had to tilt his head up to meet the wolf’s gaze.

Smiling, he said, "We meet again."

The winged wolf frowned slightly, clearly not recognizing him, then turned away without a word.

Stunned, the female glared after him, torn between irritation and determination as he followed.

An orc from Impreza whispered to Ed, "Is it safe to let him go alone?"

Ed waved a hand. "This place is secure." With that, he turned to chat amiably with the valley’s orcs.

Su Yi raised an eyebrow. Oh-ho, sparks are flying there.

That afternoon, Hunter organized a friendly competition, a chance for orcs to showcase their skills and for young females to scout potential mates. Though in Hunter and Ed’s words, it was simply "bonding through combat."

Unexpectedly, Hunter, Sinoer, and Jells became prime targets for challenges - especially Jells, who ended up fighting five opponents at once.

The kids were even more excited than the adults, cheering for their favorites. Kexike, dragged along by Tang Yu (who feared his careless mother might jostle her unborn child), watched indifferently as his father effortlessly defeated every challenger.

When Sinoer was chosen, he handed little Suno, who blinked in confusion, over to Su Yi.

"Mother, why are they hitting Father?"

"They’re not fighting, they’re competing to see who’s stronger," Su Yi explained, his eyes fixed on Sinoer’s dazzling white-scaled beast form. Even now, it amazed him how effortlessly he’d fallen for this man.

Sensing his gaze, Sinoer glanced over, and the two shared a silent, knowing smile.

After the adults’ matches, the kids clamored for their own tournament, but Hunter vetoed it - those reckless brats would only end up hurting each other.

Five days later, Ed departed, leaving behind four of the five females. The last one, though fond of the valley, couldn’t overcome her aversion to unknown orcs. In exchange, a beautiful winged fox female who was smitten with the still-single Ed, insisted on returning with them, much to his flustered embarrassment.

The four who stayed quickly settled in: the beauty moved in with the scarred winged wolf, while the sickly one fainted from heatstroke while picking fruit and was carried to Mino by Jero. From then on, the two grew close.

The newcomers were warmly welcomed - especially the females.

By the time the outer wall was completed, Tang Yu safely gave birth to a little female - the valley’s first since Suno, drawing everyone’s attention.

With their numbers swelling to nearly a thousand, the tribe convened to choose an official name. Tang Yu, the naming fanatic, threw out suggestions like 'Yanhuang Tribe,' 'Summoner's Canyon,' 'Nuwa Tribe,' and 'Huaxia Tribe,' his grandiose ideas causing Su Yi's eye to twitch in annoyance.
[炎黄 (Yan-Huang): Combines 炎帝 (Yándì, the Flame Emperor) + 黄帝 (Huángdì, the Yellow Emperor), two legendary rulers in Chinese mythology]
[女娲 (Nǚwā): the Chinese goddess who created humans and mended the heavens]
[华夏 (Huáxià) is a poetic name for China, meaning "magnificent summer" or "splendid civilization."]

In the end, they settled on Riggs Tribe, named after a flower symbolizing fortune in the orc world, a declaration that their tribe, even with unknown orcs (believed to bring bad luck), would thrive. Over the years, this name drew countless outcasts, unknown, and wandering orcs seeking refuge.

As the valley cultivated crops, Su Yi secretly enriched them with space-water, subtly enhancing everyone’s health. Riggs’ females grew notably fertile, attracting outside orcs, though courtship meant leaving their tribes to become "live-in sons-in-law."

Rebirth with the Beast Chapter 122 Part 2

    Three Years Later

A child with snow-like delicate features sat atop a black panther, slowly walking along a valley path.

The child frowned, scanning the surroundings with his small hands gripping the panther’s fur. "Lore, let’s not look for Brother anymore. They’re mean, they never let me play with them."

The panther lazily stretched. "Then where do you want to go?"

Tired from sitting, the child slumped against the panther’s back, rubbing his snow-white cheek against the soft fur.

    "Mother is gone too…"

The panther stopped and turned his head, silver-gray eyes glimmering like stars.

"I smell Father. Let’s go ask him."

With that, the panther quickened his pace toward a crowd ahead.

The valley had grown lively recently, with many newcomers, mostly unknown orcs seeking a home and winged fox tribesmen willing to follow Hunter.

Not long ago, some of Hunter’s tribesmen had accidentally wandered into the valley. At the time, Hunter and Lore were out training, so they didn’t get the news in time. This led to a clash between the winged foxes and the valley’s residents.

When Hunter returned, he realized they were his own people.

Seeing Hunter as the valley’s leader, the winged foxes were proud. After admiring the beautiful environment and comfortable houses, they decided to stay.

However, these pretty winged foxes were harder to get along with than other tribes. But Hunter had a temper, after they caused trouble, he gave them a stern scolding, and they quickly behaved.

Most of Hunter’s tribesmen knew his temper well. He was ruthless. If they angered him, they’d be lucky to escape with their lives.

With so many newcomers, Hunter discussed with Su Yi and decided to have the later arrivals settle outside the valley. Su Yi suggested building a walled enclosure, similar to a city wall, around an area slightly smaller than the valley.

Though it sounded like a massive project, it wasn’t too difficult for the orcs, given their strength and ability to shift into beast forms.

Originally, Tang Yu was in charge, but after showing signs of pregnancy, Su Yi took over.

Hunter was discussing security improvements with the orcs when he saw his son Lore approaching with little Suno.

Hunter put away the blueprint and waved the others off before crouching to pick up Suno.

By now, Hunter had fully accepted Suno as his future son-in-law and doted on him endlessly.

"Why aren’t you playing with Eli and the others?"

Suno blinked his big eyes. He liked this handsome uncle very much. "They won’t play with me. I want to find Mother."

Hunter smiled gently, his ruby-like eyes were warm. "Your mother is busy. How about I take you to play with someone else?"

Su Yi was busy, overseeing the construction of new homes and helping Mino treat injured unknown orcs.

These unknown orcs were pitiful yet fortunate. Countless others like them across the continent died young, unable to survive in the wild. Many starved, were eaten by beasts, or poisoned. Those who survived, their bodies bore old and new scars.

Today, Su Yi encountered a female who had been taken by wandering orcs and later abandoned. What shocked him was that the female had a one-year-old child with him, born in the wilderness.

Su Yi couldn’t imagine how he had managed it. Even with many people around, Su Yi himself had nearly died giving birth to Suno.

The female was emaciated, skin stretched over bones. When the orcs brought him back, he had no clothes, clutching his child with skeletal arms. The child resembled him, he was malnourished like a famine victim.

Heartbroken, Su Yi added space-water to their medicine and gave them extra food.

Since they were both fragile females, they were taken into the valley for care, temporarily staying with Old Taylor, who had plenty of room.

By the time Su Yi returned home, another day had passed.

There, he found Sinoer lecturing Eli.

"As an older brother, it’s your responsibility to care for your sibling."

"But Suno is too weak. I’m afraid he’ll get hurt if I take him along," Eli argued. At seven, he was no longer the soft little boy he used to be. Orc children matured faster, Eli looked more like an eleven- or twelve-year-old.

Sinoer’s expression darkened, and Eli knew he was in trouble. Sinoer was usually gentle, but when he got angry, not even Su Yi could save him.

Just as Eli was scrambling for a way to appease him, Su Yi walked in.

    "Mother!"

Suno, sitting on the bed, slid down and toddled happily toward Su Yi.

Su Yi crouched, catching Suno in his arms and lifting him up.

"What’s going on?" Su Yi asked, glancing between them. Sinoer’s icy expression softened slightly.

Eli quickly said, "Mother, it’s my fault. I didn’t take care of my brother. I left him alone."

Su Yi looked at Sinoer, who remained silent, instead gently taking Suno from him.

Su Yi sat on the bed. "Your mistake isn’t not playing with Suno, it’s avoiding responsibility. You think taking care of a female is troublesome, right?"

Eli glanced at Suno and nodded helplessly. That was exactly why Sinoer was angry.

    "Alright, apologize to your brother."

After Eli apologized, Suno who was not fully understanding, forgave him like a little adult.

"It’s okay. Lore will take care of me."

Su Yi paused, then laughed wryly at Sinoer. "When did our baby get stolen by Lore?"

    Sinoer’s expression darkened further.

In the following days, Eli stayed close to Sunk. Eli’s beast form was a white snake with hard scales.

But Suno who was still small, tired easily from walking.

Sitting on Eli’s back was uncomfortable for his little bottom, so he ended up riding Lore again, leisurely strolling through the valley, but now they were trailed by Eli and his friends.

Rebirth with the Beast Chapter 122 Part 1

Chapter 122

A month later, the weather grew even hotter.

Every family had long since put away their leather mats. Su Yi had been busy these days, working with the females in the valley to weave bamboo mats.

Over the past month, the valley’s square had been cleared out. A patch of land was prepared for growing vegetables and fruits, while a large field near the river was designated for corn and wheat. To keep wild beasts from trampling the crops, they built a simple fence around it.

The bored Tang Yu had recently gone out with Jells and the others to a nearby salt flat, bringing back a good amount of salt. On the way, they also picked up an abandoned young orc, another unknown orc.

This young orc had just taken human form. From his forehead down to the corner of his left eye, he had a platinum lightning-like beast mark.

To the people here, it probably looked hideous. But in Tang Yu’s eyes, it was freaking cool. Especially since the kid had white hair, dark skin, and a pair of silver-gray eyes. He was definitely going to grow up into a handsome man. So Tang Yu brought him back. After all, there were plenty of childless couples in the valley, so raising him wouldn’t be a problem.

As soon as the young orc arrived, Ian took him in.

Ian and Hunter couldn’t have children of their own. Now that one had been handed to them for free, they were overjoyed. Ian, in particular, carried the child around with him almost every day.

The young orc had many injuries when he first arrived. Mino and Su Yi went to check on him. The kid was a pure-black winged panther, and his beast form was strikingly beautiful. It reminded Su Yi of Ed, who was also a black-winged panther.

With more children in the valley, Su Yi started thinking of ways to make toys for them. The young orcs were easy, they could follow the adult orcs into the forest for training, which counted as play. But the young females were different. They were delicate, and aside from helping gather fruit, they often had nothing to do. Perhaps because he had a female child himself, Su Yi found himself paying extra attention to other families’ young females lately.

So he dug out his tools and spent five or six days hammering away, making toys like building blocks, seesaws, shuttlecocks, jump ropes, rocking horses, and balance beams.

When Su Yi brought these to the small square, a crowd of children immediately gathered. They chattered excitedly, asking what each toy was, and Su Yi patiently taught them how to use them.

With toys to play with, even the young orcs stopped running wild, giving their parents some peace of mind.

Many females, finding the toys fun, also stepped out of their homes. They were smarter than the kids and picked things up quickly after one demonstration. Su Yi was happy to let them teach the others.

While Su Yi was busy with this, Tang Yu wasn’t idle either. But unlike Su Yi, who was a natural with kids and made things to entertain them, Tang Yu’s creations were mostly for his own comfort.

One day, he dragged out a rocking chair and lounged comfortably under a tree. The next day, he made a woven rattan stool because he found wooden benches too uncomfortable. He was always finding ways to make life easier for himself.

On this particular day, he brought out the dragon cub, carrying snacks, planning to relax in the rocking chair while keeping an eye on the kid. But then he saw Jells already sprawled in it, rocking leisurely.

Tang Yu walked over and kicked the chair, signaling for him to get up, this was his throne. But Jells ignored him, continuing to rock contentedly.

Tang Yu put down the dragon cub and tried pulling and tugging, attempting to brute-force the man off. But after sweating profusely and failing to budge the mountain of a man, he gave up in frustration and plopped right into Jells’ lap.

Jells wrapped an arm around his waist, ruffling Tang Yu’s gradually lengthening hair. "Stop fussing. Let’s nap."

Tang Yu smirked, tilted his head, and nestled comfortably against Jells’ chest, closing his eyes.

But the cost of this cozy nap was dire, when they woke up, xiaolongbao (dragon cub) was long gone.

When Su Yi walked out holding a kite, he saw Tang Yu frantically searching for his son. Su Yi raised an eyebrow, already used to the regular disappearances of Tang Yu’s kid.

Little Eli waved his hands excitedly. "Hurry, hurry, Mother! Let’s fly the kite!"

The kite was something Su Yi had just finished that morning. The night before, Dino had brought back some strange plants that could be used as dye. That gave Su Yi the idea, so he got up early to make it.

Sinoer carried Suno, following behind the two. Lately, he had fully embraced his role as the perfect stay-at-home dad.

Su Yi had become very popular among the kids recently, thanks to all the toys he made and the time he spent playing with them.

"Uncle Su Yi, what fun thing did you bring us today?" a young orc called out loudly.

The others immediately chimed in, bombarding him with questions until his head spun. Su Yi shook the string in his hand and walked toward the square, teaching them how to make their own.

When the kite soared higher and higher, gasps of amazement followed.

    "Wow! It’s flying! So cool!"

    "Yeah, that’s amazing!"

"Of course! My mother is the best!"

If little Eli still had a tail, it would’ve been wagging furiously.

Su Yi let them play on their own. The kites, decorated with beautiful patterns, were especially popular among the females.

Over the next few days, many families came to learn how to make kites, mostly those with female children.

A few days later, Su Yi looked up at the sky, where crooked, oddly shaped kites wobbled in the air, and felt secondhand embarrassment. Their aesthetic sense was… unique.

To protect his own baby, Suno, from this questionable artistic influence, Su Yi kept him indoors for a while.

Rebirth with the Beast Chapter 121

Chapter 121

The wandering orc, who had been called a "monster" by the little orcs in the valley, found himself followed by the chattering boy all the way back to the valley.

The entire trip, the wandering orc remained silent while the little orc spilled his life story like pouring beans from a bamboo tube. It turned out the boy was also an unknown orc, but his traits were so subtle that no one had noticed until recently. When he finally realized and confessed to his family, he was promptly driven out from the tribe, just as expected.

Surprisingly, the boy held no resentment. Compared to other unknown orcs, he considered himself lucky. At eleven years old, he was old enough to hunt and survive on his own. Though life outside the tribe was dangerous, he optimistically saw it as training for adulthood.

When the wandering orc returned to the valley with the little unknown orc in tow, he worried about causing trouble and went straight to Hunter, the leader.

Hunter inspected the boy but said nothing, simply arranging for a place for him to stay.
____

Meanwhile, with their biggest threat eliminated, Su Yi’s mood improved significantly. Over the next few days, he stayed home doting on his freshly "baked" little bun.

Little Eli had been feeling particularly important lately. With a new female in the family, his friends had become unusually attentive. Females were rare in the valley, and the young orcs were practically vibrating with excitement. They often tagged along with Eli or Dino to Su Yi’s house, sneaking peeks into the room whenever possible.

One day, Sinoer returned from hunting to find a young orc with round-faced and looked adorable, standing on tiptoe by the window, drooling as if staring at a feast. The sight filled Sinoer with complicated emotions. His precious female was still so small, and already attracting admirers? What would happen when he grew up?

Lately, Su Yi’s baby had grown more beautiful by the day - soft, pink, and delicate as a snow sculpture.

By the time the child’s full moon celebration arrived, the hot season was in full swing. Su Yi finally carried his little bun outdoors. With the heat came swarms of insects, but Su Yi had planted bug-repelling herbs around his home the previous year. He’d even asked Mino to make a repellent spray, which he now carried everywhere just in case.

The baby’s skin was too tender, a single mosquito bite would leave a red bump, making him whimper pitifully. Though nourished by the space spring water, his premature birth left him frailer than other female infants. His cries were soft, barely audible, but each one twisted Su Yi’s heart.

Compared to Su Yi’s delicate little bun, Tang Yu’s dragon cub was a full-blown troublemaker. The child embodied the phrase "bear child," causing chaos the moment anyone looked away.
[熊孩子 (xióng háizi): lit. bear child; fig. mischievous, unruly, or badly behaved kid]

Every time Tang Yu saw the aftermath of his cub’s rampages, he fought the urge to spank the brat.

One day, Su Yi visited with his baby just in time to see Tang Yu wrestling a mud-covered dragon cub into a wash tub in the yard.

Tang Yu’s face was dark as he scrubbed, muttering to himself, "Who does this bear child take after? I swear he’s not mine, maybe there was a mix-up at birth."

Jells emerged from the house with fresh clothes and deadpanned, "He’s a dragon child, not a bear child. I’m a dragon, remember?"

Tang Yu rolled his eyes, but before he could retort, the cub splashed a tidal wave of water straight into his face.

"Fine," Tang Yu huffed, wiping his face. "Dragon Dad, he’s all yours."

Su Yi burst out laughing, finally catching Tang Yu’s attention.

As Su Yi stepped closer, the cub tried guzzling bathwater until Jells yanked him out by the scruff.

Tang Yu dried his hands and eagerly reached for Su Yi’s baby. Holding the peaceful little female, he sighed. "Why can’t mine be this well-behaved?"

Su Yi handed his child over and asked, "Have you picked a name yet?"

Tang Yu grinned. "We’re calling him ‘Little Steamed Bun.’"

Su Yi’s eye twitched. He’d been considering asking Tang Yu for naming advice - until now.

Truthfully, Tang Yu had initially brainstormed names seriously. But his patience had worn thin after cycling through dozens of options. "Little Steamed Bun" only came about because Su Yi kept calling his female "little bun."

Jells, unfamiliar with human food, mistook it for a dragon-related name and approved.
[小笼包 (xiǎo lóng bāo): little steamed bun; 龙 (lóng): dragon]

Later, a group of females returned from gathering, their baskets full of seasonal fruits and vegetables. Spotting Su Yi, they crowded around to admire the snow-like baby.

Ian arrived carrying a spiked dragon and hurried over. After wiping his hands, he gently took the baby while Su Yi shouldered the game.

Su Yi realized his stamina had deteriorated.

Once things settle, I need to resume hunting. I won’t let myself become weak like other females.

That evening, Su Yi hosted friends for a feast featuring fruit salad, milk ice cream, and chilled meat-porridge - all made with stored ice. The treats delighted everyone, especially Tang Yu and the children.

Dino, thrilled by the ice cream, even saved some for his future mate.

After dessert, Su Yi revealed his real agenda: naming his female.

Mino suggested "Arriel," while Ian proposed "Kinos." Their debate ended when Tang Yu offhandedly said "Suno" - a combination of "Su Yi" and "Sinoer."

The parents’ eyes met, warmth passing between them.

Tang Yu fake-gagged. "If we follow that logic, mine would be Tangsi (糖丝) sounds like ‘sugar threads.’ Way too sweet for a boy."
[Jells: 杰尔斯 (Jié'ěrsī)]

Jells smirked. "If you like it, we can always try for a female next."

Tang Yu's face turned scarlet. "In your dreams! If anyone’s getting pregnant again, it’s you!"

"Gladly," Jells purred, knowing full well how these things worked.

Dilson, ever blunt, asked, "Is there a trick to having kids? Mino and I have been trying forever."

    The room fell silent.

Since when are there shortcuts for pregnancy?

Tang Yu’s gaze flicked to Su Yi, both remembering the space spring water.

Under the guise of fetching more food, Su Yi discreetly served Mino another portion, this time laced with a few drops of the water.

Whether it would work remained to be seen.

That night, after putting Suno to bed, Su Yi curled against Sinoer. "Think it’ll work?"

Sinoer nuzzled his neck. "We’ll find out soon enough."

Meanwhile, Dilson carried a pouting Mino home, determined to "punish" him for overeating ice cream. But when Mino tearfully stripped as ordered, Dilson's resolve crumbled.

This isn’t punishing him, it’s punishing me!

    With a growl, he pounced.

Rebirth with the Beast Chapter 120

Chapter 120

Sensing Su Yi's emotional fluctuation, Sinoer carefully held his hand. The cold aura around Su Yi faded as he turned to look at Sinoer and smiled, noticing the worry in his eyes. "I'm fine."

Even though Su Yi said so, Sinoer's expression remained grim. His frosty gaze fixed on Lamira and his mate, as if his eyes alone could kill them both.

Lamira’s face turned pale, and his whole body trembled as he shrank closer to his mate. But his usually brave mate was now staring at Sinoer in terror.

They still remembered that day when Su Yi was giving birth, Sinoer who was half-transformed, his eyes a venomous crimson. It was the furious glare of a poisonous snake. If not for Su Yi’s condition at the time, Sinoer would have torn them apart.

Now that Su Yi had recovered, Sinoer wanted to teach them a lesson himself. But Su Yi insisted on handling them personally, so Sinoer could only stand by and watch.

That night, Su Yi dragged them to the small square in the valley. Along the way, many people saw Su Yi and Sinoer pulling the two along. Combined with Lamira’s constant wailing, more and more onlookers were drawn in. Those with nothing to do at home even brought their children to watch the spectacle.

Tang Yu heard that Su Yi had taken the two to the small square and hurriedly followed. Before leaving, he put on his newly invented baby-carrying outfit, tucking his little dragon cub inside so that only its big, round eyes peeked out.

The weather had warmed up, and by the time Tang Yu panted his way to the square, he was drenched in sweat. Though the dragon cub wasn’t very big, it was surprisingly heavy, leaving Tang Yu exhausted.

Su Yi was sternly reprimanding Lamira, his tone icy.

"No matter what misunderstandings exist between us, you should never target my child, especially since my child is a female. How vile must your heart be to harm an unborn baby?"

Su Yi didn’t use harsh words, but every syllable cut deep.

In this orc world, the rarity of females was common knowledge. Su Yi deliberately downplayed his personal feud with Lamira, instead emphasizing Lamira’s attempt to harm his unborn child. As soon as he said this, the crowd erupted in outrage.

Harming an unborn child, especially a female, was beyond despicable. People began shouting accusations at Lamira, even suspecting that he and his mate had ulterior motives for coming to the valley.

Tears streaming down his face, Lamira knelt on the ground and wailed, "I didn’t do anything! You all saw it, he was the one who attacked first! I never did anything!"

Su Yi’s gaze turned even colder. "Oh? If you insist on bringing that up, let me ask you this: Everyone knew I was close to giving birth. At such a dangerous time, why did you choose to come when I was alone, spewing venomous words to provoke me? What exactly were you hoping to achieve?"

Cornered, Lamira trembled in fury. His original plan had been to extort something from Su Yi, or better yet, provoke him into losing the child, or even dying.

Premature births were common among females here, and in Su Yi’s condition, both mother and child usually wouldn’t survive. Yet not only did Su Yi pull through, but he also delivered the baby safely.

What infuriated Lamira even more was that, despite Su Yi’s coma, no one believed his side of the story, instead, he and his mate were captured.

"He tried to kill my little brother!" Little Eli suddenly emerged from the crowd, followed by a group of young orcs, all seething with anger.

From a young age, orcs here were taught to protect females, especially young ones. But females were scarce in the valley, and with Dino already "reserved," their future mating prospects were slim.

Now that Eli’s family finally had a female, one who hadn’t even been born yet, Lamira had nearly killed it. Imagining how beautiful Su Yi’s child would grow up to be, the young orcs burned with protective fury. Whether the little female would ever choose them as mates didn’t matter, they would defend him regardless.

The adults, well aware of their children’s thoughts, also had their own schemes. Ever since Mino mentioned Su Yi was carrying a female, many people in the valley had set their sights on his unborn child.

Now that their future daughter-in-law had almost been murdered before birth, their expressions darkened.

Amid the public outcry, no one listened to Lamira and his mate’s pleas. Stones were hurled at them, and some young orcs even stepped forward to throw punches.

Hunter made no move to stop them, instead casually draping an arm around Ian’s shoulders and chatting idly.

Expecting Su Yi to escalate the situation further, everyone was surprised when his expression softened. "Out of respect for the Beast God’s protection over my child, I won’t kill you today. But you can no longer stay in this valley."

The crowd marveled at Su Yi’s mercy, praising his kindness despite the harm done. His mention of the Beast God’s protection was taken as divine truth.

Tang Yu, however, wasn’t fooled. Mino tugged his sleeve and whispered, "Just letting them go? It feels too lenient."

    Dino and the others agreed.

Tang Yu smirked. "Don’t worry. Su Yi never lets anyone off easy."

His meaning wasn’t immediately clear to Mino, Dino, or even Ian. Seeing Ian’s confused blink, Hunter leaned in and murmured, "He’ll probably take revenge after they’re gone."

Hunter’s breath brushed Ian’s ear, turning his fair cheeks pink. Hunter’s ruby-like eyes darkened.

"Really?" Ian stammered, squirming away from the heat creeping up his face.

Hunter refused to let him escape, pulling him into a firm embrace.

Ian glanced around, flushing deeper when he noticed the onlookers, especially Old Taylor’s knowing gaze. Though as an elder he disapproved of Hunter, he couldn’t deny Ian’s happiness.

The valley’s residents dragged Lamira and his mate to the outskirts, tossing them out with stern warnings before returning home.

Night had fallen. As the crowd dispersed, shadowy figures slipped out under cover of darkness.

Su Yi had intended to track Lamira alone, but Sinoer insisted on accompanying him, unsure if Lamira’s mate might retaliate. To their surprise, Jells and Tang Yu joined, turning the mission into a four-person operation.

Su Yi shot Tang Yu an annoyed glare as they trailed the pair from a distance. With two powerful orcs present, there was no risk of losing them.

"Where’s your precious dragon cub?" Su Yi asked irritably.

Tang Yu rubbed his nose. He still felt guilty about Su Yi’s premature birth, especially since Su Yi had warned him beforehand. This was his chance to make amends.

"Dropped him off at Ian’s place." He shuddered, recalling Hunter’s murderous glare when he handed over the cub.

Su Yi suddenly realized how unfit they were as parents, his own child had been sent to Mino’s care, while Tang Yu dumped his to Ian.

Ironically, their irresponsibility gave the two couples early practice at parenting.

After tracking Lamira far enough, they shifted into beast form and closed in.

Lamira was mid-rant when an oppressive aura silenced him. He looked up and froze.

A massive dragon soared overhead, wings outstretched. On its back, a sharp-eyed female nocked an arrow, taking aim.

    Whoosh!

    The arrow struck true.

Su Yi wasn’t being ruthless, Lamira’s venomous threats left no choice. He had boasted about bringing outsiders to seize the valley’s resources and spewed hatred toward unknown orcs. Letting him live risked future attacks, especially with children in the valley.

Su Yi and Sinoer lured a beast horde toward Lamira’s location. Tang Yu’s arrows wounded the pair, the blood scent driving the creatures into a frenzy.

    They didn’t stay to watch.

As they left, Lamira’s mate hoisted him into a tree, only for a beast to clamp onto his leg.

Desperate, he reached for Lamira’s hand.

Lamira hesitated, eyeing his mate’s wounds and the snarling pack below. Then he climbed higher, abandoning him.

The mate unleashed a deafening roar of betrayal, his body partially shifting as he launched into a ferocious, bloody counterattack against the beasts.

Lamira cowered in the branches, chanting, "I won’t die, I won’t die..."

When silence fell, he peered down and vomited at the carnage.

"Su Yi... Just you wait! I’ll make sure you all die!!" he screamed.

    A rustle interrupted him.

A scar-faced wandering orc emerged, his eyes were cold.

He hadd witnessed Lamira’s treachery, and remembered how Su Yi had once fought alongside him against beasts.

Though they’d barely spoken, the wandering orc considered Su Yi a friend.

This was his way of repaying the debt.

After dealing with Lamira, the wandering orc hunted nearby. While cleaning his kill, he spotted a scrawny orc by the stream.

The stranger perked up. "Hey! Which tribe are you from?"

The wandering orc ignored him, beginning to shift.

"Whoa! You’re an unknown orc? That’s so cool!"

Instead of fear, the scrawny orc's eyes shone with admiration.

    The wandering orc stared.

Had he just met an idiot?

Rebirth with the Beast Chapter 119

Chapter 119

Lamira's naivety knew no bounds. First, Hunter's position as leader had been voluntarily relinquished by Su Yi himself. Second, Hunter was far from being some righteous figure. And third, Hunter's lover happened to be Su Yi's closest friend. This latecomer Lamira clearly didn't understand how deep the waters ran in this valley.

If not for Su Yi being in late-stage pregnancy with unusually severe symptoms, Lamira's clumsy scheme would never have succeeded.

Truth be told, Su Yi had terrible luck. Most pregnancies didn't come with such extreme reactions, but from the moment of conception he'd been either fainting or vomiting uncontrollably.

Mino's face turned ashen when he discovered suspicious bruises on Su Yi's stomach, it was clear evidence of wrongdoing that had triggered premature labor.

Chaos erupted among those present. They had all rushed to help Su Yi, never imagining someone would take advantage to exact revenge.

Hunter immediately surrounded Su Yi's home and arrested Lamira and his mate without hesitation.

Though witnesses claimed Su Yi had struck first, the injuries proved malicious intent. Lamira, as the instigator, became the target of collective fury.

To these simple people, no grievance justified harming an unborn child. The moment Lamira was detained, he was met with a storm of curses. But no matter how angry they grew, Su Yi's condition remained critical.

Tang Yu rushed over upon hearing the news, only to return home grim-faced after confirming Su Yi's injuries.

Su Yi had warned him about Lamira. Tang Yu had kept watch for so long, but without incident, he'd grown complacent. Only for Lamira to strike at the worst possible moment. Worse, Tang Yu suspected someone was targeting Su Yi's unborn child.

When Tang Yu returned clutching something, his thunderous expression silenced the room.

Inside, Sinoer was in semi-beast form, clutching Su Yi protectively while glaring daggers at everyone, as if ready to pounce at any moment.

Jells cleared the room, leaving only Ian, Mino and Tang Yu. Sinoer couldn't be removed, so they waited anxiously outside.

"Ian, boil water. Jells, bring the birthing tub and prepare clean drinking water," Tang Yu called out sharply, sending everyone scrambling to obey.

When Ian emerged later, the scent of blood clinging to him, his face ghostly pale. Hunter wanted to comfort him but restrained himself, knowing that Ian hated being treated as fragile.

In the courtyard, the children huddled together trying to console Eli and Dino, who wept silently in guilt for not being there to protect their mother. They didn't realize Lamira had specifically chosen their absence to make his move, it was a carefully calculated attack, just as Su Yi had anticipated.

For Su Yi, this was undoubtedly the most vulnerable moment of his life. Exhausted and in excruciating pain unlike anything he'd imagined childbirth to be, he felt like a drowning man who'd never learned to swim, utterly powerless and alone in his despair.

Yet he knew he couldn't close his eyes. If he did, he might never open them again. The thought of how devastated Sinoer would be kept him fighting. Would Tang Yu remember what he'd entrusted to him?

Then, he tasted the familiar taste of the special water. Tang Yu had come. Relief flooded Su Yi, followed by irresistible exhaustion. So tired...

When Su Yi awoke two days later, he blinked dazedly before memory returned with a jolt. His slight movement immediately alerted Sinoer, who looked up with bloodshot heterochromatic eyes, his entire frame trembling.

Su Yi reached out to touch Sinoer's stubbled cheek. "Made you worry..." His voice was barely recognizable.

Sinoer bolted outside, triggering another wave of commotion.

Eli and Dino charged in, only to be scooped up mid-leap by Sinoer. Eli's eyes were swollen from crying, while Dino visibly forced himself to stay calm.

Tang Yu and Mino followed, palpable relief washing over them at seeing Su Yi conscious.

After drinking some water, Su Yi rasped, "The baby?"

Ian hurried in with a tiny bundle. Su Yi stared incredulously at the pink-cheeked infant. "This... came out of me?"

Tang Yu snorted. "Unless I birthed him?"

Su Yi had been semi-conscious during delivery. Without Tang Yu administering the special water, neither he nor the premature baby would have survived. The infant, barely six pounds, had been so weak he could barely cry.

That night, no one slept. Only at dawn, when both Su Yi and the baby stabilized, did people take turns resting.

Holding the fragile newborn, Su Yi's voice turned icy. "Where is he?"

"Hunter has him detained," Tang Yu answered.

Su Yi nodded, yawned, and everyone took the hint to leave. Only when alone did his mask slip, his eyes glacial.

Sinoer embraced him, and Su Yi melted. "I know what you're thinking. Rest, let me handle this."

Su Yi shook his head. "No, I need to do this myself."

After resting, Su Yi entered his space. He took some the magical water, diluted it, and bathed in it. Then he took another portion of the magical water and drank it. The purification wracked his body with pain, but when he emerged, his gaze had hardened into steel.

He trimmed his hair short, wore spotless white hides that accentuated his pale complexion, and handed the baby to Mino before heading to Hunter's place.

Lamira was imprisoned in a storage cave near Ian's home. The damp, reeking space made Lamira barely recognize the transformed Su Yi who entered, until he spotted Sinoer and shrieked, "You! Why aren't you dead?!"

Su Yi crouched down, his cold stare reducing Lamira to a trembling wreck. For two days, Lamira and his mate had endured silent threats from everyone - Eli, Dino, Tang Yu, Jells. They had expected Su Yi to die from the premature birth. Seeing him healthy terrified them more than any violence could.

"I didn't mean to!" Lamira finally cracked. "I just wanted a better life! I never meant to kill you!"

Su Yi touched his stomach, watching Lamira pale further. "Mirel is dead. The moment your tribe sold him off, he died."

Had Mirel not met Sinoer, his fate would have been tragic, a breeding tool, discarded when broken. Despite his flaws, Mirel had never truly harmed anyone. Yet Lamira, driven by jealousy, had sold his own tribesman.

And now? Faced with his victim, he felt no remorse, only entitlement to more.

Rebirth with the Beast Chapter 118

Chapter 118

Su Yi watched as the little dragon cub was snatched away. He was about to reach out and wrestle it back from Tang Yu when someone gently pulled him from behind.

Sinoer looked at Su Yi disapprovingly, his light-colored eyes filled with worry.

    "Don’t fuss. Be careful."

As Sinoer held him, Su Yi instinctively leaned into his embrace. The moment he did, all his strength seemed to drain away.

The others watching couldn’t help but laugh.

Tang Yu teased, "Stop showing off your love in front of others."

The phrase showing off love was something Tang Yu had said before. At first, no one understood, but Tang Yu had explained it to them. Now, hearing it again, everyone burst into laughter.

After chatting and joking for a while, Su Yi started feeling tired. Sinoer carried him back, but before they even reached home, Su Yi had already fallen asleep.

Later, Tang Yu finally met the female Su Yi had mentioned. This female had also come to join the excitement and see the little dragon cub, every female wanted to bask in the joy of a newborn.

So when he arrived, Tang Yu wasn’t surprised. He subtly sized him up, noting the ingratiating smile on his face, but Tang Yu remained indifferent.

Knowing what this female was scheming made Tang Yu uncomfortable.

Over the next few days, Tang Yu started raising nursing beasts at home. He wanted to experiment with breeding them properly. If they could be raised like pigs, the tribe could rear more in the future.

Since Tang Yu had been pregnant, he rarely went out before. Now that he was finally "released from prison," many people came to reconnect with him. Through these visits, they learned about his livestock project.

Mino, who lacked Tang Yu and Su Yi’s hunting skills, came to learn from him. Impressed by Tang Yu’s idea, Mino went home and had Dilson build a similar pen. Tang Yu mentioned that the nursing beast's milk was drinkable, not only healthy but also good for skin whitening and beauty.

However, Dilson misunderstood. Since they didn’t have a baby, why would Mino suddenly want to raise nursing beast? Was he feeling pressured seeing Tang Yu with a child?

Thinking this, Dilson smacked his forehead, his tail wagging excitedly. Ah, Mino must want a baby too! So the simple-minded orc canceled his hunting plans and focused on "quality time" with his partner instead.

After several days without seeing Mino, Tang Yu thought he might be sick.

But while Mino was absent, Ian started visiting frequently.

Though Ian couldn’t transform, in his heart, he was still an orc. And orcs loved children. He had once dreamed of having his own, but knowing his body’s limitations, he accepted no one would want to bear his child. Besides, Hunter treated him so well now, he couldn’t hurt him.

Without children of his own, Ian poured his affection into others’ children.

Little Eli and Dino had grown increasingly lively, playing with the other children in the valley. They were right at age that even dogs dislike, Ian found them too rowdy now. His new focus was Tang Yu’s baby. He was determined not to let this one turn into another little troublemaker.
[狗都嫌的年纪 (gǒu dōu xián de niánjì): lit. An age even dogs dislike; fig. The troublesome, hyperactive phase of childhood]

But after a few visits, Ian began to despair.

Tang Yu’s baby was truly the unrivaled troublemaker, barely ten days out of its shell and already ruling the family.

Thanks to its strong dragon genes, the cub started crawling around within three days. Worried it might get stuck somewhere, Tang Yu blocked all hazardous spots with hides. By the eighth day, that method no longer worked, the cub clawed its way through every barrier.

While Tang Yu was on the verge of collapse, Jells remained utterly calm.

Once, when Ian visited, he saw Jells toss the cub into a tub like a ball, claiming it was "bath time." Watching the little one sink without resurfacing, Ian thought to himself, If this cub wasn't a dragon, I would doubt if this is his biological child.

Eventually, Ian shifted his focus to Su Yi's unborn baby.

He figured little orcs would always be a bit wild, but Su Yi was carrying a soft and sweet female. The thought melted Ian’s heart completely.

By the end of the cold season, the flowers outside Su Yi’s home had bloomed fully, transforming the area into a small garden. Even more delightfully, Su Yi’s vegetables and fruits thrived, and the transplanted fruit trees were covered in colorful blossoms.

Su Yi’s due date was set for the hot season, but it came early, triggered by an infuriating encounter.

The culprit was the original owner's so-called "friend."

When Tang Yu heard the news, he exploded. Su Yi had warned him about this person, and Tang Yu had been monitoring him quietly. But after so long without incident, Tang Yu assumed he’d given up, until he suddenly confronted Su Yi.

Su Yi’s belly was big now. Mino, looking at it, privately doubted the child was female, because he felt no female baby was that big.

Su Yi’s mood swings grew unpredictable. As Tang Yu put it, it was prenatal depression, he’d felt the same before giving birth. If Jells neglected him for even a moment, he’d spiral into fears of abandonment.

So when that female cornered Su Yi, dredging up painful memories, Su Yi snapped.

After repeated rejections, the female inexplicably lost his temper too.

"What, now that you’ve married a cursed orc with some skills, you’re putting on airs? If I expose your past, do you think you’d still have this cushy life? You’re just trading on your looks for sympathy. But if Sinoer knew how indecent you were, do you think he’d still want you?"

Su Yi almost laughed. This female must’ve arrived late, unaware of everything Su Yi had done for the tribe. He assumed their prosperity was solely due to Su Yi’s "capable partner," still equating Su Yi with the original Mirel.

"Cat got your tongue? Or did I hit a nerve? I drove you out of the tribe once, and I can do it again here." His arrogance and ugly sneer made Su Yi’s chest tighten.

"What do you want?" Su Yi had been standing too long; his legs trembled, but he refused to show weakness.

"Nothing unreasonable. Just get me a decent house. You’ve got connections here, people listen to you. It’s no big deal for you." His gaze lingered greedily on Su Yi’s home.

Su Yi gritted his teeth. "Build your own. No one gets handouts here." He ached to beat this female senseless, but with the baby at risk, he held back.

"We’re old friends, why the standoffishness? Besides, cursed orcs like them are inferior. Why should they live in comfort? They’re forsaken by the Beast God, unworthy of homes or tribes. Once I’m settled, I’ll bring our tribe here and drive them all out."

The term cursed orcs which had long been heard, ignited a fury in Su Yi. It included his lover and friends, who’d harmed no one and were kinder and braver than most. How dare he?

The female had clearly planned this, choosing a time when Sinoer was absent. Su Yi’s last shred of restraint shattered as his bottom line was crossed.

When Su Yi came to his senses, he realized the female had slapped him down, just as someone conveniently opened the gate. Many witnessed Su Yi shoving the female.

The crowd froze. The gentle Su Yi actually had hurt someone? The murderous glint in his eyes terrified them.

The female clutched his slapped cheek, tears streaming.

"Mirel, I know you don’t want Sinoer learning about your past. But no matter how shameful, we’re friends, and you two are mates. You can’t hide it forever."

His sobs turned theatrical. The orc accompanying him glared at Su Yi in shock. He hadn’t believed his mate’s claims of meeting Mirel, until now. Seeing Su Yi’s violence, he recalled how Mirel had bullied his mate before.

"Mirel, you’ve gone too far! You tormented Lamira in the tribe, and even after being sold off, you’re still the same!"

    The bystanders exchanged confused glances.

    Isn't his name Su Yi?

    Mirel? Sold off? A bully?

Suspicion and judgmental stares bore into Su Yi. His mind fogged, he’d walked right into a trap.

As he struggled to explain, a female suddenly screamed.

    "Su Yi, you’re bleeding!"

Chaos erupted. Regardless of the accusations, this wasn’t the time. Everyone rushed to help, but the crowding overwhelmed Su Yi. Dizzy and suffocated, he collapsed, and as he fell, he felt a kick aimed at his belly.

For the first time, Su Yi felt true despair. Even when shot before, he’d never known helplessness like this.

    His baby…

When Sinoer returned, he found a crowd surrounding Su Yi - eyes closed, tear-streaked.

Like a madman, Sinoer began hurling people aside. His rage was so terrifying it paralyzed them. Even as they were thrown out, all they could see were his serpentine eyes, bloodthirsty and feral.

Tang Yu was worse. Upon hearing the news, he tried to attack the female, but Jells restrained him, whispering,

"Good, good. A beating isn’t enough. I’ll make him pay."

Tang Yu’s chilling smile made Lamira stiffen. For a moment, he thought Tang Yu would rip him apart.

No… they won't dare. My mate will protect me. And Hunter, the fair-minded leader, won't allow violence… right?

Rebirth with the Beast Chapter 117

Chapter 117

Hearing Su Yi's words, Ian opened his mouth hesitantly before continuing, "Su Yi, you know I'm not a smart person. I came today because I wanted to hear your honest thoughts."

In this place, where females were extremely scarce, many orcs who couldn't find mates would choose to be with other orcs. After all, life was long, and staying alone forever would be too lonely. Of course, there were also orcs who chose to remain solitary.

Before his encounter with Luo Xi, Ian had once considered finding another orc to live with if things became unbearable. But after what happened, he had developed a resistance to others' touch.

Now, thanks to Su Yi and the others' help, he had resolved his inner turmoil. Coupled with Hunter's recent attentiveness, Ian suddenly felt the urge to find someone to spend his life with.

The human heart was easily swayed.

Especially in these peaceful times, he had a comfortable home, a safe and reliable tribe, and many friends who cared for him. Now, he only wanted to move forward and stop making everyone worry about him.

"If you truly like him, then give it a try. But I should warn you, Hunter is far more cunning than you think."

After Ian left, Su Yi was no longer sleepy, so he stretched and went out for a walk. The rain had stopped by then, with only the occasional drop falling onto his face, cool against his skin. He took a deep breath of the fresh air, the environment here was truly wonderful, with top-tier air quality.

He had previously planted many vegetables and flowers in and around the yard. Since Sinoer's sense of smell was too sharp, Su Yi had chosen flowers with little to no fragrance.

Now, tiny green sprouts were beginning to emerge from the ground. When Sinoer returned from his outing and saw Su Yi standing outside the yard, he immediately dropped what he was holding and rushed over.

Sensing someone behind him, Su Yi turned and couldn't help but smile when he saw it was his lover.

    "You're back early today?"

Sinoer nodded, reaching out to support Su Yi as he guided him back into the yard.

Although the weather was gradually warming, the lingering drizzle made Sinoer worry about Su Yi standing outside.

    "Don't catch a cold."

Unable to refuse Sinoer's concern, Su Yi reluctantly followed him back inside.

Su Yi's previous physical condition had been comparable to an orc's. But now, he couldn't even match Tang Yu's stamina. At times, he felt so unlike himself that it frustrated him, though he never voiced it aloud.

Yet no matter how frustrated he was, he didn't want Sinoer to notice.

Compared to the tranquility of Su Yi's home, Tang Yu's place was bustling with activity. The two little ones, after playing outside all morning, didn't return to their own home but instead made their usual stop at Tang Yu's.

They first circled the motionless dragon egg, then sweetly asked Tang Yu if he was feeling unwell.

Watching the two soft, adorable faces, Tang Yu suddenly felt that having children wasn't so bad after all. He grabbed little Eli, squished his cheeks playfully, then let both kids scamper away in mock terror.

No sooner had the children left than Mino arrived with a few other females. Mino checked on Tang Yu and examined the dragon egg's condition.

"It should hatch within the next two days," Mino instructed. "When it starts to break free, both of you must be present. The little one won't have opened its eyes yet, it will rely on scent to recognize its parents."

After Mino left, Tang Yu anxiously called for Jells.

"Don't go hunting these next two days. We still have plenty of dried meat and preserved food in the cellar. Mino said the baby needs to imprint on us."

Jells agreed readily. Ever since Tang Yu gave birth, his appetite had diminished, so they didn't need as much food anyway.

As evening approached, several orcs arrived at Tang Yu's door with nursing beasts in tow, a gift sent by Hunter. Hearing the egg would hatch soon, they knew newborn orcs needed milk in their first few days.

Tang Yu was touched. Without their reminder, this new parent would have completely forgotten, leaving his child hungry after hatching.

After everyone left, Jells busied himself settling the nursing beasts in the yard.

Tang Yu leaned out the window, listening to their conversation before calling out, "So the child needs milk? What if you can't find nursing beasts when the baby's born?"

Jells replied matter-of-factly, "Then they'd probably go hungry for a few meals."

At this, Tang Yu hurried outside. The nursing beasts were about the size of pigs from his original world. They were round, fluffy balls with eyes hidden beneath their fur.

"Wow, they're so small. I thought all beasts here were huge and tough," Tang Yu chuckled, unable to resist petting their soft fur.

Jells adjusted Tang Yu's collar as he explained, "Nursing beasts are among the few small, gentle herbivores. They're non-aggressive but incredibly fast and hard to catch despite their size."

Tang Yu pointed skeptically at the rotund creatures. "These? Fast?"

Jells glanced at them too, even he wouldn't believe it if he hadn't hunted them before.

As they chatted, Tang Yu suddenly had an idea. "What do they eat?"

"Some kind of grass, I think," Jells answered uncertainly. Hunting was one thing, knowing their diet was another.

    "What if we raised some?"

    "Raised?" Jells looked puzzled.

Tang Yu explained eagerly, "We could keep them penned in the valley. That way, we'd have milk whenever needed. Plus, milk is nutritious, good for frail females or growing orc children."

Though not entirely following, Jells nodded in agreement.

As Tang Yu elaborated his plans, Jells suddenly carried him back inside, just in time to spot a faint crack appearing on the dragon egg's surface.

Noticing Jells' reaction, Tang Yu asked, "What's wrong?"

Without answering, Jells hurried over. When Tang Yu finally saw the crack, he scrambled out of Jells' arms and practically leaped onto the bed.

He suddenly regretted leaving earlier. After waiting so long, why did he have to miss this moment?

Fortunately, the shell hadn't fully broken yet. Otherwise, their child might not recognize them.

The two first-time fathers, overwhelmed with nervousness, spent the entire night staring at the egg without sleeping a wink.

By dawn, Tang Yu could barely keep his eyes open.

Jells pulled him close, whispering, "Sleep. I'll wake you."

Tang Yu shook his head stubbornly. Though exhausted, his excitement kept him awake. This was his child, how could he not wait patiently?

The agonizing wait continued until afternoon.

By then, Tang Yu's face had turned ashen.

This kid's not even born yet and already causing trouble, who does he take after?

Just as he was grumbling internally, a sharp crack echoed through the room, much louder than an eggshell breaking. Tang Yu jerked upright to see a large fissure splitting the egg.

Peering carefully through the gap, he spotted a dark little creature struggling inside, covered in fluid. The tiny thing whimpered pitifully, clearly in distress.

Heart aching, Tang Yu reached out to help, only for Jells to stop him.

"This is his first challenge. We can't interfere."

Jells' cold tone annoyed Tang Yu, but he knew his mate was right. He settled for shooting Jells a glare.

Recognizing Tang Yu's distress, Jells' dark eyes softened with amusement.

"Don't worry. He can do it."

As if to prove Jells right, the little one gave a mighty push, toppling the eggshell and stumbling out clumsily.

The moment he emerged, Jells swiftly wrapped him in ultra-soft fur and placed him in Tang Yu's arms before wordlessly leaving the room.

Tang Yu sat frozen, staring blankly at the tiny creature in his arms.

Outside, Jells boiled water, stoked the hearth fire, then milked one of the nursing beasts.

When he returned, he found Tang Yu still in the same position, now with the baby licking his hand curiously.

Tang Yu was equally amused and exasperated by the messy little thing covering him in strange fluid, but he finally sprang into action when Jells brought warm water for washing.

Though Jells handled the baby gently, Tang Yu couldn't stand watching. He jumped up and took over.

"You clean the bed. I'll handle the baby."

As Jells changed the bedding and collected the eggshell fragments, Tang Yu finished bathing the little one. Wrapped snugly in fur, the baby now drank warm milk from a small bowl kept heated on the stove.

Finally getting a clear look, Tang Yu marveled at the miniature Western-style dragon. He thought it was adorable now, though someday it would grow into a mighty winged beast. The thought filled him with pride.

That evening, Jells took meat and vegetables to the communal square, announcing their child's birth, sparking celebrations throughout the valley.

Even secluded at home, Su Yi heard the joyous orc cries. "What's happening?" he asked Sinoer.

Before Sinoer could investigate, Eli and Dino came bursting in.

"Mother! Quick! Uncle Tang Yu's baby hatched!"

After delivering the news, Eli grabbed a toy and dashed out again with Dino, all without entering the room properly.

Su Yi suddenly questioned his parenting. He remembered how quiet and well-behaved Eli used to be, now the boy was practically a little tyrant, always shouting instead of speaking softly.

Even timid Dino had become boisterous.

Su Yi sighed, wondering what his unborn child would be like.

Please let it take after Sinoer, not me.

Knowing himself too well, Su Yi dreaded another troublemaker.

After dinner, Su Yi selected food, furs, and baby clothes as gifts. But arriving at Tang Yu's house, now crowded with visitors and presents, he almost regretted bringing so much.

With the weather still chilly, Tang Yu received guests in the outer room while keeping the newborn sheltered. Most visitors were females offering (sometimes insincere) congratulations, which Tang Yu accepted graciously.

The baby, requiring both hands to hold, was reportedly large for a newborn. When Mino arrived, Tang Yu even let him hold the child briefly.

Su Yi swooped in unceremoniously, snatching the baby from Mino's arms for inspection.

"Be careful!" Mino protested. "You're carrying one yourself!"

Su Yi ignored him. "Want him back? Try taking him."

Glancing at Su Yi's belly, Mino laughed ruefully.

"Fine, play the pregnancy card. Just wait till yours comes out."

"Give me back my son!" Tang Yu interjected, reclaiming the baby while rolling his eyes at Su Yi's antics.

Rebirth with the Beast Chapter 116 Part 2

The three of them headed home together when Su Yi suddenly felt a wave of nausea. Before they even reached the door, he rushed to the side and vomited violently.

The sight instantly panicked both Sinoer and Dino.

Sinoer quickly patted Dino. "Go get Mino!"

Dino took off running. Seeing Su Yi in such distress scared the little boy badly.

By the time Mino arrived, Su Yi had already thrown up everything he could. He lay weakly against Sinoer, looking utterly drained.

Mino checked Su Yi’s temperature, then examined him carefully.

"It’s fine. You just have stronger reactions than most."

Hearing Mino’s relaxed tone, everyone sighed in relief. Su Yi shifted into a more comfortable position and fell into a deep sleep.

A few more days passed, and Su Yi’s condition improved slightly. He started planting vegetables in the yard.

Tang Yu, however, wasn’t as free. He had to stay in bed all day, cradling his egg.

When he heard from a visitor that Su Yi had gone out, he immediately asked Jells to bring Su Yi over. Being cooped up alone was unbearably boring.

Su Yi arrived in the afternoon, carrying a small bag of seeds, which he casually tossed onto Tang Yu’s table.

Walking into the inner room, Su Yi saw Tang Yu hugging the egg in a daze. "How long until this thing hatches?"

Hearing Su Yi’s voice, Tang Yu’s eyes crinkled with a smile, the teardrop mole at the corner of his eye looking especially vivid.

"Captain Su, you’re finally here! I’ve been so bored."

After days of rest, Tang Yu’s complexion had improved significantly.

Su Yi walked over and touched the hard shell. It felt rough, the patterns on its surface even clearer than before.

"It’ll probably take a few more days," Tang Yu said, flopping lazily onto the bed.

Su Yi hesitated before recounting the situation with the new couple, how the female recognized his past identity, he laid everything out for Tang Yu.

""I'm pregnant now, and I don't want to worry Sinoer. Can you keep an eye on him for me? If he behaves, great. But if he steps out of line... deal with it as you see fit."

Tang Yu had been lounging lazily, but now his eyes gleamed with interest.

"Haha, Captain Su, you really think highly of me."

Su Yi shot him a look. Tang Yu had already given birth, he had more freedom to move around. Plus, Su Yi knew that despite Tang Yu’s airheadedness, he was cunning when it counted.

Su Yi didn’t stay much longer before Sinoer took him home.

Another day passed, and the first rain of the cold season arrived.

The weather was still chilly, and the rain made it even more unbearable. Su Yi refused to step outside.

Many orcs skipped hunting that day, so the valley was lively. Some chatted in groups, others helped their partners with chores, and a few played with the children. Despite the rain, the atmosphere was cheerful.

Ian braved the rain to visit Su Yi, bringing freshly picked fruit.

It had been a while since Su Yi last saw Ian, and rumor had it he'd been out hunting for days. As Ian appeared, Su Yi's eyes widened, he looked even more muscular and energetic than before.

"Su Yi, since you’re carrying a baby, you need to take care of yourself. Don’t run around too much."

Su Yi nearly laughed at Ian’s earnest advice. Even without being told, he was too lazy to go wild these days. His pregnancy was nothing like Tang Yu’s. Tang Yu had only been uncomfortable at first, then full of energy, eating and sleeping nonstop. Su Yi, on the other hand, had no appetite, felt nauseated at the slightest strong smell, and was constantly tired and moody.

"Actually, there’s something else I wanted to ask you," Ian said awkwardly, his beautiful eyes flickering with unease.

Su Yi raised an eyebrow, intrigued.

"Go ahead." Su Yi leaned in, all ears.

Ian hesitated, then rubbed his face with both hands.

"Do you think… my face is too… too pretty?"

Hearing Ian’s insecure, embarrassed words and seeing his flustered expression, Su Yi couldn’t help but laugh.

He studied Ian’s face seriously. Ian really was stunning, even someone like Su Yi sometimes caught himself staring.

    "Yeah, you really are good-looking."

"After what happened with Reg, do I really attract that much attention from orcs?" Ian’s face twisted with discomfort.

But Su Yi was secretly pleased. The old Ian had been hypersensitive about his looks, any mention would make him hostile. But lately, Su Yi noticed Ian didn’t seem to mind as much. Especially today, it almost seemed like Ian no longer hated his own appearance.

Su Yi chose his words carefully. "I think what draws people in isn’t just your face. Ian, haven’t you noticed how much more confident and magnetic you’ve become lately?"

Ian’s face flushed. Then, as if remembering something, he murmured, "He said the same thing."

    He? Who’s ‘he’?

Su Yi’s interest was piqued. "He? Who?"

Ian seemed hesitant, but since Su Yi wasn’t an outsider, he finally whispered, "What do you think… of Hunter?"

Su Yi was stunned. Out of all possibilities, he hadn’t expected Hunter, the fox orc. Su Yi had assumed it was Reg or someone else, but never the cunning fox.

That fox always struck Su Yi as sharp, unlike the simple-minded orcs here.

Su Yi glanced at the innocent Ian, then thought about the fox. The pairing seemed… unbalanced. Wouldn’t Ian be at a disadvantage?

Plus, Hunter was the current tribe leader, a prominent figure. With his striking looks, being with him meant constant vigilance against other females.

Seeing Su Yi’s silence, Ian’s heart sank. He knew how exceptional Hunter was. Someone that outstanding, as the tribe leader, should be with a beautiful, gentle female.

But lately, whenever Ian went hunting, Hunter always accompanied him. Hunter wasn’t talkative, he only stepped in when Ian was in danger. Over time, Ian had sensed Hunter’s feelings.

Noticing Ian’s expression shift from hopeful to pale, Su Yi quickly asked, "Do you… like him?"

Ian didn’t answer, just lowered his head, eyes flickering. Su Yi understood, without him realizing, Ian and Hunter had already grown close. Otherwise, someone as reserved as Ian wouldn’t have come to ask him.

"Well, if you like him, give it a try."

Chapter 116

As soon as Su Yi entered, Tang Yu, who had been half-asleep on the bed, immediately perked up a little.

"Captain Su, if it weren’t for you, I definitely wouldn’t have been able to give birth." Tang Yu puffed out his cheeks, his plain but neat face wearing a faint look of relief. Before, while carrying the egg, he had been constantly worried about laying it. Now that it was finally over, his expression couldn’t have been more relaxed.

Rebirth with the Beast Chapter 115

Chapter 115

Su Yi was a little anxious. He turned and hurried into the house. Jells sat in the main hall, his expression grim. Though he said nothing, Su Yi could tell Jells was deeply distressed.

Su Yi and Mino quickly made their way inside, both wearing troubled expressions. Jells’ room was lined with the finest, softest animal pelts. Su Yi walked in barefoot, and as soon as he pushed open the inner door, a pungent smell of blood assaulted his senses.

Su Yi’s stomach churned, and his heart grew even heavier. This was Tang Yu’s blood, and it seemed like far too much had been lost.

Tang Yu, a young master born into privilege, had always been a little more pampered than others. Though he had learned self-reliance after his rebirth and endured many hardships, after meeting Jells, he had slipped back into his old, indulgent lifestyle.

And now, with Tang Yu pregnant, Jells had spoiled him rotten. Seeing Tang Yu in pain for an entire day must have felt like an eternity for Jells.

To be honest, Su Yi was a little scared. He didn’t know if Tang Yu could endure this. What if something went wrong? Would the pool water from his space help if the worst happened?

Just as Su Yi’s anxiety peaked, Tang Yu’s agonized scream tore through the air. “Aahh! Captain Su! I’m not giving birth anymore!!”

    Not giving birth?

Su Yi let out a bitter laugh. Was this something he could just decide? He grabbed a piece of fur to cover his nose and mouth before approaching the bed.

The room was in chaos. Su Yi reached out and grasped Tang Yu’s trembling hand, his arm was shaking, his fingers deathly pale.

“It’s alright, don’t be afraid. My mom said she was in labor for a full day and night when she had me. You have to hold on.” Su Yi spoke softly while wiping the cold sweat from Tang Yu’s forehead.

The stifling heat in the room soon left Su Yi looking just as pale. His chest felt tight, and a sheen of sweat coated his skin.

Mino, noticing Su Yi’s condition, frowned. “Are you okay? Maybe you should step out.”

Su Yi shook his head, his gaze fixed on Tang Yu’s increasingly ashen face. His worry deepened, Tang Yu’s cries were growing weaker, as if his life force was slipping away.

The thought terrified Su Yi, especially since Tang Yu was someone he cared about. Unconsciously, his grip on Tang Yu’s hand tightened.

“Captain Su… I really can’t do this anymore… It hurts so much… Am I going to die?” Tang Yu’s plea was barely a whisper now.

“Tang Yu! Tang Yu, don’t fall asleep!” Su Yi’s expression twisted in panic.

With no other choice, Su Yi took out the pool water and carefully fed it to Tang Yu. Tang Yu recognized it but lacked the strength to react.

Mino, unaware of its significance, assumed Su Yi was just giving Tang Yu water for strength.

Ian hurried in and out, bringing fresh hot water. When Tang Yu suddenly stopped screaming, Jells grew even more frantic. Unable to bear it any longer, he called out from the doorway, “Tang Yu?”

Tang Yu’s eyes fluttered open weakly. “Captain Su… I think I heard Jells…”

His lips were cracked, his expression dazed. Su Yi knew Tang Yu wanted Jells with him, but he was afraid that if Jells entered, he’d lose his last shred of resolve.

“I miss him…” Tang Yu’s voice trembled, barely audible.

Su Yi’s eyes stung. Now that he was pregnant himself, his emotions had been unstable. Seeing Tang Yu like this, he couldn’t help but imagine himself in his place.

Tang Yu was proud and a little vain, he didn’t want Jells to see him in such an undignified state during childbirth. So before labor began, he had made Jells promise not to stay with him.

“Should I let him in?” Su Yi asked carefully.

Tang Yu’s eyes widened in panic. “No!”

Before he could finish, a voice cut in. “Fool.”

A figure with long, dark curls stepped into view. The simple word made Tang Yu’s heart ache.

Su Yi quickly moved aside as Jells rushed to Tang Yu’s side. The moment Tang Yu saw him, his reddened eyes welled up with fresh tears.

People were all the same, when sick or in pain, they feared seeing loved ones the most. Because then, they couldn’t hide their vulnerability.

With Su Yi holding his hand, Tang Yu had managed to hold on. But hearing Jells’ voice shattered his resolve. He wanted to cry, to throw a tantrum, to bury himself in Jells’ arms.

Jells’ hands clasped Tang Yu’s tightly before gently pulling him into an embrace.

The moment Tang Yu touched Jells’ chest, he broke down completely, sobbing between hiccups. “Jells… Mino said the egg is too big… It won’t come out… It’s my fault, I ate too much…”

Jells lowered his lashes, hiding the pain in his eyes. “We’ll never do this again.”

Tang Yu wanted to roll his eyes, but he lacked the strength. Instead, he hiccuped and looked up at Jells’ face.

He loved Jells’ eyes, they were deep and beautiful, always so focused when looking at him.

“But… if I don’t… you’ll be sad… hic!” Tang Yu’s words were interrupted by another hiccup.

“I won’t. I won’t.” Jells’ lashes trembled slightly. Was childbirth always this painful? He suddenly felt guilty for putting Tang Yu through this.

Outside, Jells’ courtyard was packed with people. Sinoer had been standing there all day, worried sick about Su Yi inside. The scent of blood had even reached the yard, and with the room sealed shut, he feared Su Yi might not handle it well.

After what felt like an eternity, Su Yi finally emerged, supported by Ian.

The moment Sinoer saw him, he rushed forward, carefully pulling Su Yi into his arms.

    “Are you alright?” he whispered.

Su Yi waved him off, leaning exhaustedly against Sinoer. “Let’s go home and rest. It’s over now.”

On the way back, Su Yi fell asleep in Sinoer’s arms. In his dream, he wandered through a vast white expanse, barefoot on soft grass. After walking aimlessly for a long time, he suddenly saw eggs, countless, massive eggs.

He moved cautiously among them, filled with dread, as if one wrong step would crack their shells.

Then the dream shifted, he was back in his original world.

Tang Yu, heavily pregnant, had been arrested by Dong Xiaoxiao. Su Yi went to bail him out, only to find himself in a hospital, surrounded by white walls and hurried doctors.

A familiar figure appeared, a man with long, dark curls and sorrowful black eyes.

Panicked, Su Yi followed a nurse to an operating room. The light above the door flickered off.

Had Tang Yu given birth? Was it a boy or a girl?

As Su Yi approached, he saw Dong Xiaoxiao in tears and Mino wailing.

    Had something gone wrong?

A stretcher rolled out, the body beneath covered in white cloth. A terrible premonition seized Su Yi. He yanked the cloth away and woke with a gasp.

“Su Yi? Su Yi! What’s wrong?” Sinoer’s frantic voice brought him back to reality.

Su Yi blinked, disoriented, before letting out a shaky breath.

“A nightmare?” Sinoer wiped the sweat from his brow and pulled him closer.

Su Yi rubbed his face. “Yeah… a bad one.” He stretched, glancing at the dim sky outside. “How long was I asleep?”

“Since last night, almost a full day. Are you hungry?” Sinoer helped him dress.

“Yeah.” Su Yi clung to him, his heart still racing from the dream.

Sinoer carried him to the kitchen, where a warm meal waited. The two ate slowly, Su Yi picking at his food while Sinoer patiently fed him bites.

Their two children had already run off to Jells’ house, eager to see the new baby.

“Mother, you should’ve seen it! Uncle Tang Yu laid a huge egg! It had red flames on the shell!” little Eli exclaimed excitedly.

Su Yi smiled weakly, idly playing with Dino’s small hand.

“Oh, and new people came to the tribe! A mated pair. They want to stay,” Eli added, eyes gleaming mischievously.

Sinoer’s expression darkened when Eli mentioned the stranger’s odd question: “Are you the white winged serpent?”

Su Yi who lost in thought, didn’t notice. The dream’s image, the face beneath the white cloth, haunted him.

    “Why me?” he murmured.

    “Hmm?” Sinoer glanced at him.

“Nothing. Let’s go check on Tang Yu.”

But as they stepped outside, Sinoer froze. A strange-looking female stood at their gate, scrutinizing their home.

When their eyes met, an odd sense of recognition flickered in Sinoer’s mind.

    Have I seen him before?

The female smiled. “You’re Sinoer, right? My mate and I just arrived. We’d like to stay.”

Sinoer’s gaze turned cold. He had no interest in this stranger.

Undeterred, the female's eyes locked onto Su Yi. “Is your mate… Mirel?”

The name made Sinoer’s blood run cold.

Seeing his reaction, the female smirked, until Sinoer’s icy reply cut him short.

    “You’re mistaken.”

Without another word, Sinoer carried Su Yi away. But his mind raced.

Who is he? How does he know Mirel?

Peeking from the furs, Su Yi watched the furious stranger with narrowed eyes.

By the time they reached Jells’ house, the yard was packed with well-wishers and onlookers.

Su Yi slipped out of Sinoer’s arms and strode inside, forcing himself to appear energetic.
