Rebirth of the Useless Young Master’s Counterattack Chapter 53 Part 2

The victim had taken safety measures, but for some reason, the steel bars suddenly snapped, costing him his life. The incident had been suppressed, but when another death occurred two days ago, it became impossible to cover up. The construction site had since shut down completely.

"I’m not a fortune-teller, and I don’t have that kind of ability." Mu Lichuan spoke indifferently after listening. He was certain something supernatural was at work.

Qi Wei nodded. "Yeah, we just want you to take a look. If you can’t solve it, we’ll have to abandon the project." This would bankrupt his buddy's family.

Mu Lichuan didn’t refuse. Since he wasn’t walking the righteous path, he might as well embrace the darker side. Not to mention, he had Yin-Yang Eyes, why waste them? Helping others earn gratitude points while making money was a win-win.

So Qi Wei happily introduced Mu Lichuan to his buddy’s father - a portly middle-aged man currently overwhelmed by the situation. When he saw it was just a teenager, he waved dismissively. "Qi Wei, are you messing with us?"

At first glance, Mu Lichuan noticed the man was shrouded in dark energy - a sign of impending disaster, possibly even imprisonment.

"If you don’t believe me, there’s no point continuing." Mu Lichuan turned to leave.

"Dad, Dad, let him take a look. You’ve already hired other masters, and they all failed…" Qi Wei’s buddy, Yuan Chengzhi, interjected quickly.

Yuan Dacheng found the boy’s face unconvincing, but his son had a point, they were out of options. He forced a smile. "Young Master Mu, my apologies for my ignorance. If you can resolve this, I’ll pay you five million."

Qi Wei’s eyes nearly popped out at the sum. No wonder Mu Lichuan lived so comfortably, this "profession" was ridiculously lucrative.

Mu Lichuan remained calm. "Let’s take a look first. Whether I can solve it depends on what I find."

They arrived at the construction site. The moment Mu Lichuan stepped in, he sensed a sinister, malicious energy - something was very wrong here.

"Someone set up an array here. You must have offended someone." Mu Lichuan knew business rivals were common, but his eyes detected faint, swirling energy encircling the area. Prolonged exposure would bring misfortune, and deaths here were no accident.

"Can you fix it, Master?" Yuan Dacheng’s eyes lit up. Though doubtful, he knew better than to probe too deeply into a master’s methods.

"It’s a feng shui array, and it hasn’t been here long. Otherwise, more than a few lives would’ve been lost." After listening to Xiao Mo’s words, Mu Lichuan explained, "Once we find the array’s core, we can break it." His tone was casual, but to Qi Wei and the others, it sounded profoundly mysterious.

A well-placed feng shui array could attract wealth and ensure safety, but the opposite was also true. To dismantle it, they needed to locate its core.

As they walked further in, Qi Wei shuddered. "Why does it feel so cold?" Despite the blazing sun, an eerie chill ran down his spine.

"That’s yin energy. Too much exposure isn’t good for you." Mu Lichuan’s ominous tone made Qi Wei shiver before realizing he was teasing him.

Though it was a joke, the others couldn’t shake their unease. When Mu Lichuan found the spot where yin energy converged most densely, he announced, "Found the core…"

"Do we need to prepare anything?" Yuan Dacheng wasn’t entirely clueless. He’d never believed in "superstition," but the incidents here were too bizarre. Previous masters had all claimed helplessness.

"No." Standing atop a high point, guided by Xiao Mo, Mu Lichuan channeled his soul power to destroy the four key points of the array. But the effort drained his spiritual energy, leaving him pale and drenched in sweat.

Despite the summer heat, Mu Lichuan had always remained cool—now, his sweating proved the exertion. The others didn’t dare disturb him, fearing unforeseen consequences.

After an unknown length of time, Mu Lichuan finally steadied himself. "It’s done."

Yuan Dacheng and the others stared in disbelief. They hadn’t expected the solution to be so simple, it felt anticlimactic.

"Thank you, Young Master Mu." Yuan Dacheng spoke half in gratitude, half in doubt.

Mu Lichuan looked at the man. "Don’t resume work yet. Let the sunlight purify the area first."

As they left the hillside construction site, anti-corruption officers arrived. "We suspect you of bribery. Come with us."

Mu Lichuan sighed. Yuan Dacheng looked embarrassed. "I’ll cooperate, but they have nothing to do with this."

"Everyone comes in for questioning! No excuses!" The officer glared at Mu Lichuan. "Isn’t this the superstitious lunatic?"
