Rebirth with the Beast Chapter 106 Part 1

Chapter 106

Jells patted Tang Yu’s back, worried that he might laugh too hard and hurt himself.

Tang Yu kept looking back and forth between Jells, with his jet-black hair, and Hunter, who was completely snow-white. The more he looked at them, the more he felt that the contrast between black and white really suited them.

As the rain grew heavier, Jells had no choice but to take Tang Yu back home.

The rain continued for two days, pouring heavily. Many people in the valley found themselves with a lot of free time. With nothing else to do, they began visiting each other’s homes.

Even though it was raining, Su Yi wasn’t idle at home. He and Sinoer built a wooden cabinet together. The cabinet had three levels: the top was for storing miscellaneous items, while the middle and bottom sections had doors and were used for clothes and fur blankets.

After that, the weather cleared up.

The valley after the rain was shrouded in thick fog, and the air was damp, carrying the fresh scent of soil.

The children, who had been cooped up at home, were finally let out by Su Yi. After days of rest, Redra had fully recovered. Since Redra was the oldest, Su Yi specifically instructed him to take care of the three younger ones when they went out.

Everyone in the valley had seen Redra’s near-death condition before. Such severe injuries should have been fatal, but now Redra was perfectly fine.

Redra, like Dino, had the distinct features of an unknown orc. His furry ears twitched, and several young females couldn’t help but feel a tingling curiosity when they saw them.

Females were fond of orcs’ beast forms, not only because they were fierce and powerful but also because some orcs had fluffy, adorable forms.

Now, the people in the valley were no longer afraid of unknown orcs.

A young female suddenly walked up to Redra. “Are you… Redra?”

The female seemed shy. When Redra turned to look at him, he immediately lowered his head in embarrassment.

Because of his previous experience with a female, Redra didn’t have a good impression of them. When the female approached, he couldn’t help but feel wary.

Another female, who was with the first female, also walked over. He was a bit bolder than the others.

“Don’t be afraid, we mean no harm.”

Veil tugged at Redra’s sleeve, ready to leave. Seeing this, the two females quickly ran over to stop them.

“We just want to be friends with you. We really mean no harm.”

At this point, Eli and Dino, who were walking ahead, turned back and looked at the two females in confusion.

     “Why aren’t you coming?”

The two females also knew Eli and Dino. One of them walked up to Eli and started chatting with him.

After a while, they all went to Tang Yu’s house together. They wanted to make their own pottery at Tang Yu’s place. Tang Yu was lying on a rocking chair, basking in the sun, wrapped in a thick fur blanket.

When the children arrived, Tang Yu simply lifted his eyelids and told them to go play on their own.

Since Eli hadn’t transformed into his human form yet, he could only watch from the sidelines. Dino, on the other hand, was the most skilled at making pottery among them.

Although Dino didn’t like to talk much, he had no choice but to answer the barrage of questions from the others.

Children always made friends easily. After playing for a while, they quickly became friends.

By noon, the children had to go home for lunch, so they reluctantly parted ways.

When they returned, all four of them were clearly in high spirits.

Su Yi didn’t ask what they had been up to and simply called them to the yard for lunch.

Su Yi had prepared a hot pot because he felt the weather was chilly in the morning and wanted something warm to eat.

Redra and Veil were trying hot pot for the first time and watched curiously as Su Yi worked. Su Yi put the sliced meat into the pot and told them to get ready to eat.

At this point, Eli noticed that Sinoer wasn’t there. “Huh? Where’s my father?”

“You can start eating first. Your father went out with the leader for something.”

Veil’s chopstick skills weren’t great yet, and he shakily picked up a piece of meat and stuffed it into his mouth. The hot pot broth was spicy, but the amount of spice was mild enough for the children to handle.

“This is really good, but it’s a bit spicy,” Veil said, picking up a second piece with his chopsticks.

Redra who was sitting next to him, tilted his head and watched Veil eat, seemingly amused by the way he was enjoying the food.

Veil smiled at Redra, who noticed that Veil had been smiling a lot lately, always looking happy.

“The snow season is almost here. In the next couple of days, you two should pick a spot, and we’ll help you build a house,” Su Yi said casually, wiping the oil from Dino’s chin.

Veil’s eyes widened in surprise. “We… we’ll have our own house?”

Su Yi glanced at Veil. “Of course. In the next few days, take some time to look around the valley.”

After lunch, Veil excitedly dragged Redra out. Although living at Su Yi’s house was comfortable, they felt it would be inconvenient to stay there long-term.

The two of them wandered around the area. Veil wanted to build their house near Su Yi’s, but Redra thought it would disturb Su Yi’s family. Although Veil didn’t fully understand Redra’s reasoning, he obediently followed his advice.

They eventually chose a quiet, secluded spot for their future home.

Construction on the house began the next afternoon. Dilson, Sinoer, Jero, and even old Taylor helped out. By the afternoon, Hunter also brought a few people to lend a hand.

With Sinoer busy helping build the house, he couldn’t go out with Su Yi. Su Yi realized there was a problem: if he wanted to leave the valley, he needed an orc to transform and carry him out.

Su Yi went to Hunter and explained the issue. Hunter immediately followed Su Yi around the valley several times, looking for a spot to carve out an entrance for everyone.

For safety reasons, the entrance couldn’t be too large, to prevent large beasts from entering. They found a spot with thin rock layers and had a few strong orcs start digging. The entrance was two meters wide and three meters high, not too big, but not too small either. It was large enough for someone like Ian or Su Yi to drag prey in and out, but larger beasts wouldn’t be able to enter.

In the orc world, aside from a few smaller dragon species, most animals were quite large.

Of course, even with a smaller entrance, some beasts could still get through. To ensure safety, Su Yi had them build a stone gate on the inside of the valley. A track was carved into the ground, allowing the gate to slide open and closed like a train track.

The stone gate was heavy and required two orcs to move it. Su Yi did this to prevent individual orcs from sneaking the gate open on their own.

The gate could only be opened from the inside, further preventing anyone outside from sneaking in.
