After that, Redra started bringing food to Veil. Veil felt that, as an orc, he shouldn’t accept gifts from another orc. But Veil was so hungry, the wandering orcs gave them only a little food to prevent them from escaping.
The female had also met Redra at that time. The female had hoped Redra would help him escape, but Redra refused and instead tried to take Veil with him. The female, harboring resentment, had secretly informed the wandering orcs, leading to Redra’s capture.
Veil, being a child, didn’t explain everything in detail, but Su Yi could imagine how dangerous the situation at that time.
Before Su Yi could figure out how to resolve the issue, the valley suddenly erupted in chaos.
Su Yi initially thought the female was causing trouble again.
But when he arrived, he found that the one making a scene was actually Ian.
Ian? What kind of person is Ian?
Ian, like Sinoer, was an unknown orc. But compared to others, his life had been even more tragic. Despite the cruelty he had endured, Ian remained kind-hearted. He had once protected a female, only to suffer humiliation and abuse as a result.
Such a tragic past had made Ian extremely reserved. He rarely raised his voice, let alone shouted.
But now, that same Ian was screaming hysterically. His once handsome face, more beautiful than most females, was now twisted with rage.
“Why? Why are you here?” Ian shouted at a female.
That female was none other than Luoxi.
Su Yi had always found Luoxi suspicious, but he hadn’t looked into it further while they were outside.
Now, seeing Ian’s reaction, Su Yi had a terrible suspicion: Could this female be that person?
The thought sent a chill down Su Yi’s spine.
Recalling Ian’s past and the wandering orc who had been with Luoxi, along with the way the orc had stared at Luoxi before dying, Su Yi suddenly felt a mix of disgust and fear toward Luoxi.
Yes, fear.
Especially now, as Luoxi, like a skilled actor, trembled and stammered, “Who are you? I… I really don’t know you.”
Luoxi had a few scratches and his hair was disheveled, as if someone had grabbed him.
Compared to Luoxi's pitiful appearance, Ian now looked like a witch.
In front of Luoxi stood Jill, who was glaring angrily at Ian. Many people had gathered around Luoxi, furious that an orc had attacked a female. If not for Jells and Jero standing by Ian’s side, they might have attacked him.
Many were criticizing Ian for hurting a female. When they saw Su Yi arrive, they made way for him.
Su Yi looked around and clapped his hands to quiet everyone. He pointed at someone and asked them to explain what had happened.
The gist of it was that Luoxi had come to help with breakfast in the morning and had run into Ian, who was also there to help.
Ian had suddenly gone berserk, grabbing Luoxi and beating him while shouting accusations.
Su Yi nodded and walked over to Ian, gently pulling on his arm.
Ian’s twisted face softened when he saw someone he trusted. Tears of grievance streamed from his eyes.
Su Yi hugged Ian and whispered in his ear, “Is it him?”
Ian stiffened, then gave a barely perceptible nod. The sight of Ian breaking down in tears tugged at Su Yi’s heart.
“Jells, take him back first,” Su Yi said, glancing at Jells.
Before Jells could move, Jill spoke up angrily. “No way! You can’t just let him go after attacking someone.”
Su Yi’s gaze snapped to Jill.
Jill was startled by Su Yi’s glare, but he couldn’t back down. If he didn’t stand up for his quasi-mate, he would become a laughingstock.
Su Yi’s mind raced. The orcs’ instinct to protect females was deeply ingrained. The only people who knew the truth about Ian and Luoxi's past were Ian and Luoxi themselves. Even if Su Yi brought up the old grudge, Luoxi could simply deny it, leaving Su Yi with no proof.
“Luoxi was once captured by unknown orcs, and you all said he was rescued by someone, right?” Su Yi asked, looking at Luoxi. Even if the old grudge couldn’t be proven, Su Yi wanted to bring it up.
If Luoxi was as clever as Su Yi thought, he’d want to downplay the situation. Even if Luoxi denied everything, Su Yi’s standing in the tribe would make people doubt Luoxi's character.
Luoxi was indeed clever, he immediately changed his tone. “Actually, everyone, there’s no need to make a big deal out of this. These scratches look bad, but Ian only pushed me. I think there must have been a misunderstanding. Maybe I look like someone he knows.”
Luoxi's words made him seem magnanimous and understanding.
Since Luoxi had backed down, Su Yi didn’t press further. He turned to Ian and whispered, “Apologize and say you mistook him for someone else.”
Ian who was still crying, looked at Su Yi in disbelief. He was about to protest when Su Yi glared at him.
Ian’s face turned pale as he slowly walked over to Luoxi.
Ian looked utterly pitiful. The Impreza Tribe members, who had come after hearing the commotion, wanted to stand up for him.
Ed stopped them. This was an internal matter for the valley, and outsiders shouldn’t interfere.
Ian bit his lip hard enough to draw blood and finally forced out the words, “I’m sorry. I mistook you for someone else.”
Luoxi smiled. “It’s fine, it’s fine. I told you it was a misunderstanding. The orc continent is vast, there must be someone who looks like me.”
Many felt that Luoxi was being too lenient, but seeing Jells and the others, they knew that pushing the issue would only backfire on them. After all, they had a powerful dragon on their side.
The matter was dropped. By noon, the female who had a grudge against Redra suddenly said he wouldn’t pursue it anymore. Seeing how Su Yi had handled the situation with Ian and Luoxi, the female realized that even if he pressed the issue, he would likely end up worse off.
After this incident, Su Yi knew his reputation would take a hit, and Ian would feel uncomfortable.
That night, Jero came to Su Yi’s house and explained Ian’s story in greater detail.
