Many were puzzled by Su Yi’s new appearance. They had seen him injured, with white hair. But now, Su Yi had black hair and eyes, his slightly longer hair cascading down his back. His skin color was also two shades lighter than her previous healthy wheat color. While his face hadn’t changed much, the subtle differences in his appearance left everyone stunned.
Everyone had questions for Su Yi, but he was quickly surrounded by the taller orcs.
Su Yi smiled and explained to Ed, “By chance, I ate a medicinal herb. That herb saved me.”
Su Yi wasn’t foolish enough to reveal that the water from his space’s pool had healed him. To avoid suspicion, he made up a plausible excuse.
Hearing this, Ed looked at Su Yi and said, "After not seeing you for just one day, you seem to have become a different person. What kind of herb is this that has such an effect? It can not only heal your wound, but also change your appearance?"
Su Yi scratched his slightly longer hair, feigning confusion. “Let’s discuss this later.”
Lie, however, wasn’t particularly interested in Su Yi’s transformation. He directed the group, “Pick some of the prey and prepare it for tonight’s meal.” Females and orcs began selecting nearby prey.
Lie assigned a few orcs to patrol the area, ensuring no more beasts lurked nearby.
After chatting for a while, Su Yi noticed Jells approaching Tang Yu, who looked unwell. Using hunger as an excuse, Su Yi slipped into the nearby woods.
Because of what happened to Su Yi before, Sinoer was afraid that Su Yi would disappear from his sight again, so when he saw Su Yi turning around, Sinoer immediately followed him nervously.
Su Yi felt Sinoer behind him. They hadn’t had a proper conversation since reuniting, and Sinoer hadn’t asked about Su Yi’s changed appearance. Instead, he followed Su Yi step by step.
Su Yi stopped and took Sinoer’s hand. “Ask.”
Sinoer shook his head gently, his eyes fixed on Su Yi. To Sinoer, all that mattered was that Su Yi had returned. The changes didn’t concern him.
When Su Yi had first appeared, Sinoer hadn’t recognized him immediately. The thought that he might have hurt Su Yi filled Sinoer with guilt.
“Not going to ask? Fine, let’s bring Tang Yu some food.” Su Yi found a secluded spot and, in front of Sinoer, retrieved fresh fruit and dried meat from his space. Noticing Sinoer’s wounds, Su Yi realized Sinoer likely hadn’t eaten for the past two days, so he immediately pulled Sinoer to feed him.
Sinoer obediently ate whatever Su Yi offered, like a well-behaved child. Su Yi found Sinoer increasingly adorable and considered kissing him but remembered Tang Yu was still hungry. Reluctantly, Su Yi gathered the food and led Sinoer back.
Tang Yu eagerly devoured the food. After going so long without eating, he couldn’t hold back. As a pregnant person, he needed the nourishment even more.
While eating, Tang Yu mumbled, “I knew you were tough. You always pull through.”
The little female who often followed Su Yi hesitated when he saw Su Yi with Sinoer. But when Tang Yu offered him food, his stomach growled loudly.
Tang Yu tore off a piece of dried meat and tossed it to the female, who blushed and said, “I’m not hungry. You need to eat for the baby.”
The female tried to return the meat, but Tang Yu glared at him. The little female was too shy to argue, he quietly nibbled on the food.
Meanwhile, those in charge of dinner had started a fire. With many females helping, the meal was ready quickly.
As they ate, Su Yi and Sinoer found a secluded spot. Su Yi explained, “After I was injured, I entered my space and used the medicine Mino gave me. I discovered a pool in the space, and its water healed my wounds.”
Su Yi lifted his shirt, revealing the scar. Sinoer’s beautiful eyes widened in surprise.
Orcs had remarkable healing abilities, but even they couldn’t recover from such severe wounds in a day or two. Seeing Su Yi’s fully healed scar left Sinoer in awe.
“I thought I was going to die in there. Sinoer, if something like this happens again, I won’t leave your side. When I was near death, all I wanted was to see you.” Su Yi spoke with his usual composed demeanor, but his handsome face made it oddly endearing.
Sinoer’s heart ached, and he pulled Su Yi into a tight embrace. Although their spot was secluded, some could still see them. Su Yi’s face flushed, but seeing Sinoer’s expression, he couldn’t bring himself to resist.
“I’m sorry. I failed to protect you,” Sinoer apologized, his light eyelashes trembling like delicate butterfly wings.
Su Yi tugged gently at Sinoer’s hair. “It’s fine. Let’s focus on preparing for the snow season.”
To lighten the mood, Su Yi decided to channel his emotions into work. He planned to store the nearby prey in his space.
With that in mind, Su Yi and Sinoer dragged several prey toward a nearby stream.
Su Yi felt stronger after his recovery but didn’t dwell on it, distracted by the abundance of prey.
Meanwhile, the others continued eating.
Lie scanned the group and asked coldly, “Is anyone here from a nearby tribe?”
Everyone looked around. After a moment, a small, thin female raised his hand. It was the same female who had blocked the cave entrance earlier.
“I’m from the Winged Wolf Tribe, not far from here.”
The Winged Wolf Tribe was relatively close, only half a day’s journey farther than Impreza Tribe, though in a different direction.
