Bang!
Dong Xiaoxiao’s face twisted into a ferocious expression. She gritted her teeth and said, “Su Yi! It’s only because you saved me that I’ve been tolerating you all this time. Don’t push your luck.”
Su Yi quickly tried to calm her down. “Xiaoxiao, there must be some misunderstanding…”
Su Yi was truly confused. He didn’t know what was happening, but he was certain something was wrong.
Dong Xiaoxiao was now furious. Her face slowly contorted into something terrifying, and blood began to flow from her eyes.
“Captain! Captain!”
Su Yi was startled. Before he could react, Dong Xiaoxiao’s appearance suddenly changed. She transformed into Sinoer, his white-haired lover. Sinoer’s face was covered in blood, and the once beautiful and god-like figure now resembled a vengeful ghost from hell.
He stared at Su Yi expressionlessly. “Su Yi, didn’t you tell me to wait for you? I’m still waiting…”
Su Yi’s heart ached at the sight of Sinoer. He finally remembered. He had been reborn and met Sinoer, the man who had made him, a straight man, fall in love without hesitation.
Su Yi wanted to go over and comfort him, but as he moved closer, he noticed Sinoer slowly lifting his head. That’s when Su Yi saw Sinoer’s beautiful eyes, now hollow, bloody sockets.
Su Yi jolted awake again, gasping for air like someone who had been suffocating for a long time. It took him a while to catch his breath.
Su Yi wasn’t a cowardly person, but seeing the terrifying state of the one he loved most left him deeply unsettled.
“Damn it, it was just a nightmare,” Su Yi muttered, patting his face. His eyes quickly scanned the surroundings, and he let out a sigh of relief. “Thank goodness, I’m still in my space.”
Just as Su Yi was about to get up, his hand, which was propping him up, suddenly froze. He was leaning forward, and from his position, he could see a small pool in front of him. In the pool stood a strange, blood-red flower, quietly rooted in place.
Su Yi took a deep breath. He remembered clearly that this pool hadn’t had such a flower before.
The pool was small, about the size of a basin. Its edges and bottom were lined with smooth, rounded stones.
It had been hidden under some clutter before, but after Su Yi cleared it out and stored food and prey there, he had discovered it. However, there had never been a flower in it, until now.
Su Yi stared at the flower. Its petals weren’t large, about the size of a human fist.
As he reached out to touch it, his fingers brushed against something familiar beneath the flower.
It was something Su Yi had carried with him for many years, so he recognized it immediately.
It was his jade pendant, now lying at the bottom of the pool.
The jade had saved Su Yi and Tang Yu’s lives before, so Su Yi had always felt an inexplicable trust in this space.
After being injured, he had instinctively retreated into the space. Only here could he sleep peacefully, as deep down, he believed he wouldn’t easily die within its confines.
Now that he had woken up, just as he had expected, he felt it was due to the space’s protection.
Su Yi looked down at his wound. The gaping hole had stopped bleeding? He was puzzled. While he trusted the space to protect him, he hadn’t expected such a severe wound to stop bleeding so quickly.
As he pondered, he suddenly felt thirsty and bent down to drink from the pool. After a few sips, he sighed. “I wonder how Sinoer is doing. I should go out and reassure him.” Muttering to himself, Su Yi clutched his chest and prepared to leave the space.
But as soon as he stood up, a sharp pain shot through his stomach. Su Yi broke out in a cold sweat, and his vision blurred. He reached out to steady himself, but before he could grab anything, he collapsed to his knees, his face pale.
Su Yi didn’t understand. What was happening? Was it because he drank the water from the pool? But he didn’t believe the pool, which contained his jade, could be poisonous. Yet, his current condition suggested otherwise.
As he writhed in pain, the wound on his chest reopened, and blood gushed out. Su Yi bit down on his lower lip until it bled, but the pain in his stomach continued unabated.
It felt as though a knife was constantly twisting inside him. Finally, his vision went dark, and he felt a sense of relief.
Though he was unwilling, he couldn’t endure it any longer. The pain was unbearable. As he lost consciousness, a thought crossed his mind: “Am I going to die?”
Death wasn’t unfamiliar to Su Yi. As a special police officer, he had seen colleagues injured or killed in the line of duty. Many of the criminals he had apprehended were murderers destined for execution. And he himself had already died once.
He wasn’t afraid of death, but humans are greedy by nature. Su Yi had been granted a second life thanks to the jade’s protection. He should have lived cautiously, grateful for the extra time he had been given.
But now, having finally found someone he loved, how could he be willing to die.
A man nearing thirty, Su Yi suddenly felt a wave of sorrow.
He didn’t want to die. He couldn’t die yet…
He had made promises, and he needed to keep them.

Outside, the battle raged on.
It had been a full day and night. The people in the cave were starving, but no one dared to complain.
The orcs outside were suffering even more. Injured and drenched in the pouring rain, they had been fighting nonstop for a day and a night. Everyone knew the orcs were nearing their limit.
As dawn broke, Ed finally joined the fight. Seeing the other orcs exhausted, he knew he had to help, or they wouldn’t last much longer.
An arrow whizzed past Sinoer, embedding itself in a nearby tree. But Sinoer, now was out of control and exhausted, so he didn’t notice it. He continued to tear into his prey, covered in blood.
Not long after, Jill who was weakened by fatigue, he happened to land near Sinoer. He was just about to ask about Sinoer's condition, but before he could open his mouth, he felt a chill running through his body.
Jill was so scared that he quickly backed away, but Sinoer moved even faster and slithered towards him. Jill backed away and growled, trying to snap Sinoer out of his frenzy. But as he retreated, he felt something blocked his path, and when he turned around he saw that his back was blocked by Sinoer's tail.
Jill's heart raced. He was so exhausted that he had no way to defend himself against Sinoer. For his own safety, Jill stretched his aching wings, but just as he took off, Sinoer's tail struck him mid air
The blow from Sinoer's tail made Jill's vision go dark.
Sinoer swiftly coiled around Jill, turned his head toward Jill's neck and opened his mouth to bite him.
"Sinoer!"
