The Rebirth of Crazy Ger Chapter 172 Part 2

Yuan Heng's lips curved slightly. "Ning'an City has suffered heavy losses this time. I'm afraid it won't have energy to spare to help me."

"..." For a moment, Xi Ning was caught off guard. Then he laughed, a somewhat helpless sound. "If we are truly committed to helping, we will find a way. You must not hesitate to ask."

Yuan Heng shook his head. "We can handle it."

Hearing this, Xi Ning said no more.

For the next two days, Yuan Heng and the leaders of the four tribes remained secluded in the small courtyard where weapons were made, deep in discussion.

Xiao Ruo showed the people from the Danmu tribe around the city each day. They were constantly amazed by new sights.

Two days later, Xiao Ruo led the Danmu tribe members back home. Following Xi Ning's orders, Zhao Qi accompanied them for the journey.

Yuan Heng came to see them off. For the first time since Yuan Heng had left them two days ago, the four leaders emerged from the small courtyard. They brought out several enormous iron pickaxes.

Wang Jin was startled for a moment, then remembered something. Earlier, when Yuan Heng had taken him to the site for the new city, they had talked about building the city wall together.

Yuan Heng had said then that the wall must be constructed from massive stone blocks, just like Ning'an City's, so it could withstand beast hordes for centuries to come.

Usually, beastmen gathered such stones by finding suitable rocks in the forests and carrying them back. If they saw a stone still attached to a mountainside, they would simply break it free with their bare hands—a crude and violent method.

Wang Jin had once suggested the idea of iron pickaxes to Yuan Heng as tools for quarrying stone. He had even sketched diagrams and explained how they worked.

Back then, on the sandy shore, Wang Jin had drawn it casually and mentioned it in passing. He never expected Yuan Heng to remember it and, in just three days, produce so many of them.

Seeing this speed, Wang Jin began to think that maybe, just maybe, the basic shape of a city could really take form within three months.

With this thought, Wang Jin stopped idling. He began seriously drafting plans for the city, putting every useful idea from his mind onto paper and mapping everything out.

When Yuan Heng returned from seeing the others off, Wang Jin handed him the simple city plans. Yuan Heng looked them over, and a rare flash of pleasant surprise crossed his pale eyes.

"This layout is very practical. My ger is truly remarkable," Yuan Heng said as he carefully put the plans away.

Wang Jin's heart gave a sudden flutter. Many people had praised him before, but none stirred his heart quite like this man's praise.

Wang Jin lifted his chin slightly. "Of course. See who your ger is."

That proud, pleased little expression was like a pampered pet showing off for its owner. Yuan Heng's fingers twitched, and he couldn't resist pulling the young man tightly into his arms.

"Originally, I should be by your side..."

Yuan Heng didn't finish, but Wang Jin understood. He should be there to accompany him, but because of his promise, he had to go build the city and would be away from Wang Jin's side most of the time.

Wang Jin thought for a moment, then pursed his lips. "What if I came with you?"

"No!" Yuan Heng refused firmly.

Wang Jin pinched Yuan Heng's sleeve, giving it a small, pleading shake. "Brother Heng, let me finish."

"The plans I gave you are just rough sketches. Many details are missing. I could be helpful if I went along," Wang Jin said softly, his voice gentle and imploring.

Yuan Heng's heart softened completely. He wished he could agree to everything Wang Jin said. But in the end, he restrained himself and shook his head.

Usually, the man agreed to whatever he asked. This time, no matter what, he remained firm.

Wang Jin felt somewhat annoyed. His fingers loosened their grip, and he pushed Yuan Heng away.

Yuan Heng gave a soft, helpless laugh but ultimately did not give in.

Before setting out, Yuan Heng took Wang Jin to see Pan Shulin, who had been cast into the sea two days prior.

When they found him, Pan Shulin was floating motionless on the water's surface. Yuan Heng pulled him out and found he was still breathing, but barely.

His legs were pale and swollen from the water. Some areas seemed to have been bitten by fish, leaving dark, gaping holes in his feet. The sight was horrifying.

Wang Jin felt sick looking at it and turned away. Yuan Heng revealed his sharp claws, intending to end Pan Shulin quickly. Unexpectedly, Pan Shulin's eyes fluttered open again. Seeing Wang Jin, he weakly struggled as if to lunge at him.

Startled by the sudden movement, Wang Jin looked back. Pan Shulin lifted his deathly pale face, his eyes wide open and filled with utter hatred as he stared at Wang Jin. "Xi Yao! You are so cruel! I curse you! I curse you to die a miserable death!"

It would have been better if he had stayed silent. His words ignited Wang Jin's anger.

Xi Yao dying a miserable death?

In a burst of rage, Wang Jin kicked him.

Xi Yao had died a miserable death, and it was Pan Shulin who was responsible for it!

Wang Jin kicked Pan Shulin again. Pan Shulin's face twisted into an even more grotesque mask of fury.

"You and Zhao Xiang are exactly the same!" Wang Jin snapped. "Trash who never learn your lesson!"

That Zhao Xiang—even after having his eyes gouged out and tongue cut off, he had still dragged his broken body back to try and harm him!

If Pan Shulin had just accepted his punishment and behaved, how could he have ended up like this?

Furious, Wang Jin drew his foot back for another kick. But Yuan Heng caught his slender ankle and pulled him protectively into his embrace. Meanwhile, with a swipe of his sharp claws, Yuan Heng ended Pan Shulin. The corpse, along with the piece of driftwood, was thrown back into the sea.

Wang Jin only caught a final glimpse of the water tinged red.

Yuan Heng reached out and covered Wang Jin's eyes.

"Brother Heng?"

"Don't look, little ger," Yuan Heng said, his voice deep and gentle. "Someone who shows no remorse doesn't deserve to live, and he certainly doesn't deserve to stain your eyes."

Wang Jin, who had been about to pull the man's hand away, paused. Yuan Heng's hand was broad and warm. Coupled with his uniquely low, magnetic voice, it felt like warm spring water, washing away the irritation and anger in Wang Jin's heart.
