Chapter 115: Sleepwalking
Perhaps the embrace and comforting really worked. Rong Yu's tense body in the dream gradually relaxed. Originally sitting bolt upright, he now gradually softened and leaned into Yin Chengjue's embrace, his chin resting on Yin Chengjue's shoulder, his breathing gradually becoming steady.
However, just as Yin Chengjue was about to lay him down, Rong Yu seemed to be pricked by something again, bouncing upright once more. At the same time, he grabbed the rope placed nearby and swiftly looped it around one of Yin Chengjue's hands.
Yin Chengjue hurriedly tried to pull away, but Rong Yu pounced on him, sitting on Yin Chengjue's waist, spreading his legs and stepping on Yin Chengjue's arms respectively. The force was great, Yin Chengjue's elbow hit the headboard, right on the funny bone, momentarily numbing him and leaving him unable to move.
Rong Yu took advantage of this time to tie Yin Chengjue's hands to the headboard.
Throughout this process, Rong Yu never once opened his eyes.
Could this be... sleepwalking?
Yin Chengjue realized it belatedly.
He heard that people sleepwalking shouldn't be awakened?
So what should he do now?
Lying on the bed, looking at Rong Yu sitting on his waist, huffing and puffing as he tied his hands, Yin Chengjue was momentarily speechless.
After tying Yin Chengjue's hands to the headboard, Rong Yu sat bolt upright for a while. The moonlight coming through the window was enough for Yin Chengjue to clearly see Rong Yu's face and his slightly parting lips, as if he was speaking.
Perhaps he was speaking in his dream.
Yin Chengjue watched and couldn't help but ask, "What did you say? I can't hear you. Speak louder."
Rong Yu's moving lips suddenly stopped. He tilted his head slightly, as if listening for the source of the sound.
Yin Chengjue spoke again, "Xiao Yu, what did you just say?"
Rong Yu: "Brother... I've tied you up..."
Yin Chengjue moved his tightly bound arms helplessly, "Yes, so can you untie me?"
"Hehe..." Rong Yu suddenly laughed twice.
In the quiet of the deep night, the laughter sounded especially eerie.
Rong Yu suddenly moved close to Yin Chengjue's face, his handsome face almost pressing against Yin Chengjue's eyes. He said, "Brother, since I've tied you up, how could I possibly untie you? Do you think I'm that stupid?"
Rong Yu wrapped his arms around Yin Chengjue's neck, his whole body covering Yin Chengjue's upper half, holding Yin Chengjue tightly in a death grip.
Yin Chengjue lay expressionlessly, acting as a human body pillow.
"Why tie me up?" Yin Chengjue tried hard to turn his head, finally finding some space to breathe under the octopus-like restraint.
"Of course because... I like brother..." Rong Yu's hands wandered all over Yin Chengjue's body, murmuring softly, "Yin Chengjue... I've always liked you... I like you so much..."
Yin Chengjue: "..." If I can still endure this... then I'm not a man!
Yin Chengjue clenched his fists, veins bulging on his arms, straining so hard that cracks appeared in the rope binding his hands!
The cracks grew larger and more numerous until finally, with a "snap," the rope broke!
Rong Yu tilted his head in confusion, as if trying to see the source of the sound, but his eyes remained tightly shut. Who knows what he could see in his dream.
The rope was broken. Yin Chengjue, free from restraint, easily flipped Rong Yu over, pinning him down instead. With one hand, he restrained both of Rong Yu's wrists; with the other, he held Rong Yu's chin.
"Even like this, do you still like it?"
Yin Chengjue leaned down, kissed Rong Yu lightly between the eyebrows, then showered his face with delicate kisses.
"Rong Yu... I..."
"Zzzzz..." Rong Yu suddenly started snoring, lying motionless beneath Yin Chengjue just like that.
Yin Chengjue patted Rong Yu's face: "Xiao Yu?"
Rong Yu: Zzzzz
Yin Chengjue took a deep breath, silently lowered his head, and looked at a certain very prominent thing.
Fine, Rong Yu! Just you wait and see!
Yin Chengjue bit Rong Yu's ear as if venting his frustration, then helplessly pulled him into an embrace.
The next day, Yin Chengjue unsurprisingly had dark circles under his eyes.
Fortunately, there was a thing called makeup, saving Yin Chengjue from having to record the variety show with panda eyes. Otherwise, he would definitely refuse to record.
Before returning to their rooms last night, everyone played a small game. The loser had to wake up early this morning to make breakfast for everyone. Lei Miao unfortunately became the one who had to wake up early.
But how could a young master like Lei Miao know how to make breakfast? Even if he could, no one would dare eat it. So Young Master Lei very thoughtfully had the program crew call his assistant on the spot, instructing the assistant to have someone deliver breakfast the next morning, and to prepare lunch and dinner as well.
So this morning, everyone enjoyed a rich nutritional breakfast set, each person having their share to choose from.
However, after eating and drinking their fill, while everyone sat around the round table chatting and resting, they heard the phone ring nearby. Lei Miao, who was closest, picked up the receiver, pressed the speakerphone button, and heard a familiar female voice from inside: "Last night, one player violated the rules. She is the adopted daughter, Wei. Now, please ask the adopted daughter Wei and the staff to leave this place. No last words."
Wei Lu's movements paused, the juice in her cup instantly losing its sweetness. She pointed at herself incredulously, surprised, "Me? Why? Which rule did I violate?"
The female voice on the phone: "After hearing the knock, you opened the door. Your hand pushing the door open means you left the room. One of the villa owner's three rules is that after twelve o'clock, you are not allowed to leave the room. You violated the rule. Please leave the villa. The others will continue the game."
Wei Lu: "I!"
Phone: "Beep, beep, beep..."
A few staff members came out and made a "please" gesture to Wei Lu.
Wei Lu pouted, looked around, and found that no one here was speaking up for her, which was somewhat awkward. She came to record this new, small variety show to promote her newly released drama and endorsement, but she didn't expect the game in the program to have so many rules, and they were taken quite seriously.
But she always believed that even when playing games, for the sake of viewership, the program crew definitely wouldn't eliminate her early. So last night, she opened the door with almost no caution, wanting to see who was knocking. However, there was no one outside. She thought it was just a prank and didn't take it to heart.
Yet, she never expected that the program crew would say she failed the game because of this.
Among so many people, she actually became the first one eliminated! If this were broadcast, wouldn't it make her seem unintelligent?
Besides, other variety shows would be begging for her to play more games, so they could edit more of her footage, ensuring longer fan comments and securing the show's ratings.
How could this small variety show directly eliminate me first?
It's just a game, don't they care about ratings?
Wei Lu was very dissatisfied inwardly, but she didn't show it in front of the camera. She just left with especially resolute steps in her high heels.
She decided she must post a subtly critical Weibo post after returning!
After Wei Lu was escorted away by the staff, Guan Haifeng and Ling Ting subtly exchanged a glance.
The three of them were the guest stars for this episode of the program, also considered newcomers. They originally thought that even if this program didn't take care of new players, it should at least consider the influence of traffic stars.
Wei Lu had the highest traffic among the three of them, having played the female lead in a xianxia drama that attracted a large number of fans. Last year, she was even voted by fans onto the "Most Popular Female Star of the Quarter" list.
A new, small variety show like this, when facing such a popular young actress, should somehow accommodate her. Even if she did something that violated the rules, they should turn a blind eye and let her muddle through until the last few players.
But now, Wei Lu was actually the first player eliminated!
If this episode was broadcast later, and Wei Lu's fans saw it, it would likely have caused an uproar.
But, it had nothing to do with them. This might be a PR strategy for this small variety show, wanting to ride the wave of heat from being criticized by Wei Lu's fan base.
Thinking this, Guan Haifeng and Ling Ting calmed down again.
They decided to wait and see how these people would explain Wei Lu's early departure to avoid being resented by Wei Lu's fans.
The others did not overthink it as much as they did, violating the rules led to elimination, and there was nothing more to say. The only thing worth considering for them was what card Wei Lu held when she left.
Since players who violated the rules at night could not leave last words, Wei Lu was taken away without being able to say anything.
"Let me start speaking first," Wei Shu elegantly wiped the corner of his mouth and said, "I blindly guess that the adopted daughter Wei held the escape route card. So I have an idea now. How about we players from the other two task routes join forces first to push out all the escape route players together? They only need two more 'kills' now. Let's push them out first, so our respective success rates change from one-third to one-half. It's cost-effective."
Guan Haifeng and Ling Ting, who had been expecting him to make some comment on Wei Lu's departure: "..." Wait, how did we just move on to continuing the game? Aren't you going to express some regret? Aren't you afraid her fans will say you don't care about Wei Lu, that you have no heart?
Lei Miao rolled his eyes at Wei Shuyu, "What, are you trying to trick players from other task routes into exposing themselves? Do you think we're stupid?"
Wei Shuyu spread his hands, "I didn't say that."
Yin Chengjue suddenly said, "I am one of the escape route members. Are you sure you want to push me out?"
Others: "..." Why does that statement feel a bit ambiguous?
After Yin Chengjue spoke, he also realized something, coughed lightly, and said, "I actually think the detective route players have exposed themselves more now and are worth pushing out."
