My Fulang is a Delicate Flower Chapter 126 Part 1

Chapter 126 Extra (12) The Story of Da Taohe

The two of them walked quickly to the village.

At this time, it was drizzling, so not many people were out. However, there were still quite a few farmers in the fields, wearing straw rain capes and bamboo hats, busy plowing and planting in the spring season.

"Young master, look ahead. See that tall gate and the large house? It must belong to a wealthy family. They're sure to have spare rooms for us to stay the night!"

Huo Anding said to the young man beside him: "Let's choose this one, alright?"

The young man did not comment, but his steps forward expressed his opinion.

Their clothes were almost completely soaked, clinging unpleasantly to their bodies. Given the weather, it was best to settle down early and find a place to stay.

So the two went forward together. Huo Anding knocked on the closed gate. Before long, a man who looked like a farmhand came. Upon hearing they were seeking lodging, he immediately waved his hand: "Go on, get out. We have no place for you to stay."

"Such a large estate, and not even a room to borrow for one night?"

The farmhand glared at Huo Anding, didn't answer his question, and directly moved to close the gate.

Seeing this, Huo Anding quickly held the gate: "Big brother, big brother, even a woodshed would do."

With a bang, the gate was shut without any mercy.

Huo Anding turned back to look at the young man standing to the side. He rubbed the bridge of his nose: "The teacher said, 'When poor, tend to your own virtue in solitude; when in office, tend to the whole world's virtue.' This family is clearly wealthy, yet they are still like this. It's truly disgraceful!"

"Let's go. We'll make them regret it."

The young man watched the person striding off stiffly, his brow slightly moving.

After only a few steps, Huo Anding retreated back to the young man's side: "On second thought, it's reasonable for them to be unwilling to take us in since we are neither relatives nor friends. If we offered some silver, a farming family would likely be happy to let us stay for one night."

"Yes."

The young man agreed.

Huo Anding said: "Does the young master have any money on him?"

The young man heard this and felt around his waist and sleeves, then frowned and shook his head.

Huo Anding widened his eyes: "How can such a fine young master like you have no money?"

"Usually, the servants settle accounts. I rarely carry such things on my person."

Huo Anding shook his head and sighed.

A moment later, he again fixed his gaze on the young man: "The young master's clothes must be quite expensive. How about..."

Before he could finish speaking, he felt as if pierced by an icicle.

Huo Anding felt a chill all over his body. He rubbed his arms with his hands: "Alright, alright, we'll think of another way, is that okay?"

The two walked on a bit further. Suddenly, Huo Anding quickened his pace and dashed over to the edge of a field.

The young man was wondering what commotion he was making now when he saw a middle-aged man digging in the field over there.

Huo Anding squatted on the ridge, first pointing back towards the young man and then striking up a conversation with the farmer.

He must have said something convincing, for he soon turned and waved urgently: "Come quickly! This uncle is willing to let us stay!"

The young man's brow relaxed slightly.

The two followed the middle-aged man carrying a hoe. It wasn't far, in less than a quarter of an hour, they arrived at a small farmhouse.

Although not as grand as the previous large courtyard, it was still a decent tiled-roof house.

The man went forward to open the door. The young man was about to ask Huo Anding what he had said to the farmer when he saw a young woman come out from inside upon hearing the door open.

"Father, who are they?"

As soon as she finished speaking, two more girls emerged from inside upon hearing the noise.

Catching sight of the two extra young men in the yard, they couldn't help but look them over curiously. Taking a closer look, they quickly averted their gazes, their cheeks slightly red.

"These are two young gentlemen on their way to the prefectural city. They passed through here, and with the rainy weather, they wanted to borrow a place to stay."

"There is an empty room at home, but..."

The middle-aged man said: "You take your sisters to your uncle's place to stay for the night."

"Ah, alright."

After the middle-aged man's arrangements, four girls actually came out of the house and went out holding umbrellas, looking shy and somewhat bashful.

Huo Anding stood under the eaves, blinking his eyes: "This family has quite a few children."

The young man tilted his head and saw Huo Anding staring without even blinking. His thin lips parted: "Shameless."

Huo Anding raised his eyebrows: "This is shameless again?"

"You two, come to this room. It's cold outside."

Huo Anding hurried over: "We apologize for the intrusion."

"It's no trouble."

The farmer led the two into a room. It was quite spacious, though it held quite a few miscellaneous items.

But it was fairly clean, without too much dust.

"These are my eldest son's clothes. The size probably isn't quite right, but young gentlemen will have to make do for now."

The farmer also brought them clean clothes: "There's hot water in the pot, it will be ready soon."

Huo Anding accepted the clothes, thanking him repeatedly.

After the farmer left, he looked at the two sets of clothes; they were the same size.

"Young master, you choose first."

The young man didn't say anything, just casually took one set.

They were both yellow coarse cloth clothes, nothing to choose from. He took the clothes and, looking up, actually saw that Huo Anding had already stripped off his outer garments.

His movements were fast, he was already down to his inner garment. His broad, slender hands grabbed his trouser waistband, his body slightly bent preparing to take off his trousers. As he bowed his head, his collar gaped open, revealing a solid chest inside.

After just that one glance, the young man's face flushed red.

He considered Huo Anding both shamelessly unrestrained, and was astonished that beneath such a scholarly, delicate face was such a robust body.

Huo Anding wanted to say to change clothes quickly to avoid catching a chill. Before his mouth could open, an outer garment was thrown onto his face.

He stopped undoing his trousers, instead took the clothes down, and looked at the young man who had already turned his back and was sitting at the table, his posture still extremely upright.

Even in this situation, he was still s particular. Huo Anding couldn't help but want to laugh: "What are you doing?"

"Shameless."

Huo Anding: "Shameless again?"

"Fine, the young master is precious and noble. Surely no one would be so rude as to change clothes in front of you. I'll go over there to change, is that okay?"

He grabbed his clothes and went behind the pile of miscellaneous items. As he took off the inner garment stuck to his body, he said: "The young master is lucky to have met me, kind and good-tempered. If it were someone else, who would be so easy to talk to?"

The young man ignored Huo Anding's chattering, letting him talk to himself.

Changed into the yellow coarse clothes, they were similar to what Huo Anding had been wearing before, just a size smaller. His arms and ankles were exposed a section.

Although the size didn't fit, they were at least dry, much more comfortable than his original wet clothes.

"How is it? Still dashing as ever, right?"

The young man glanced at him and offered no evaluation.

Huo Anding saw he still hadn't changed his clothes and went over: "Ah, I was just saying, if the young master could praise me once, I would go fetch water for you."

"Same as before, nothing to praise."

Huo Anding blinked: "Young master always criticizes people, I'm really hurt. I just want to hear some praise."

The young man avoided the face that was almost pressing against his: "Go out. I want to change clothes."

"Truly heartless."

Huo Anding narrowed his eyes slightly, turned and left the room. However, a moment later, he still brought in two buckets of hot water: "Does the young master need this servant's assistance to bathe later? This servant is willing to take on the task."

With a bang, Huo Anding was nearly pinched by the closing door.

He tutted: "Indeed, beautiful flowers have thorns."
