Rebirth: Spoiling the Obsessive Film Emperor Chapter 68 Part 1

Chapter 68: Yin the Retorter

Since the top eighteen from the online voting had been announced, the new episode of "Hey Brother, Let's Debut!" began with the remaining eighteen trainees drawing lots to choose the songs for their third performance.

Another point to mention: the second performance was actually the previous outdoor promotional activity, the one where Rong Yu and the others rollerbladed and danced. Because it primarily assessed their adaptability and ability to attract fans, it wasn't broadcast live initially and was only released to the public after it ended.

The eighteen trainees were divided into three groups of six. There were three songs to choose from. The order for selecting songs was determined by rock-paper-scissors. However, the songs played for selection were reversed. Only after the person making the choice confirmed their selection would they get to hear the song played correctly.

Rong Yu lost both rounds of rock-paper-scissors, so he ended up last, only able to pick from what the other two groups left behind.

The reversed songs all sounded quite similar. The expressions of the two trainees representing their groups to choose the songs were very complex, which piqued the curiosity of the audience watching on TV.

The production team even deliberately played the three reversed songs for everyone to hear, leaving everyone equally baffled.

It wasn't until the correct playback mode was activated that everyone learned what those three songs actually were.

Ming Qian's group was the first to choose a song. After hearing what song they had actually picked, the entire group's expressions became somewhat bewildered.

It was a song in a quirky, funny style. It wasn't that the song was bad, but this musical style didn't really suit their group.

Tao Li's group, however, was very interested in this song, so they proactively asked if they wanted to swap songs.

Ming Qian's group happily agreed. Since both parties reached an agreement, the production team allowed them to switch.

As for Rong Yu's group, the song left for them was one titled "Black White Without Interval."

This was a lyrical song with a martial arts style theme. It had no DJ-style beats, so they would need to rearrange it themselves later, adding elements to make it suitable for dancing.

From the start of the show's broadcast until now, they had overcome numerous obstacles, passed through layers of screening, and finally reached this point.

And this third performance was their final hurdle. The voting after the third performance would determine which six of these eighteen could officially debut as a group.

For this, they would all exert their utmost effort. This performance was bound to be fiercely competitive.

On another front, not long after the heat of Rong Yu's negative trending search subsided, Yin Chengjue received an email from Fei Zhengqi.

Fei Zhengqi had previously said he would try to send over the methods Qi Le wanted to use against Rong Yu that same night, but it ended up arriving the next evening.

Yin Chengjue skimmed through the contents, and his face instantly darkened.

Qi Le wouldn't specifically create a detailed plan just to target a trainee who hadn't even officially debuted yet. So, the notebook Fei Zhengqi photographed and sent over only had some brief notes:

October 7th: Made a date with Sweetheart to play golf. Going to Ruida tonight. Oh, almost forgot. Sweetheart has always wanted to teach that guy a lesson. Let's satisfy him on his birthday. I believe he'll be even hotter that night.

October 8th: Going back to Xingle. Need to teach that disobedient thing a lesson.

October 9th: That guy with white hair from Tenls looks good. Going to try him out this day.

October 10th: Made a date with Young Master Hua. Not sure if this guy will show up. If not, I'll play by myself.

Yesterday was October 7th. This meant the blogger who broke the story about Rong Yu hitting people last night was most likely instructed by Qi Le!

Yin Chengjue replied to Fei Zhengqi: You sent this to me so timely!

Fei Zhengqi: ...Do you think getting this stuff is easy? Qi Le is trash, that's true, but he's not the good-for-nothing you imagine. Have you ever seen a good-for-nothing who can write out his schedule for a whole month and execute ninety-five percent of it perfectly?

Whether Qi Le was a good-for-nothing or not, Yin Chengjue wouldn't comment, but Qi Le had indeed sent someone to find the footage of Rong Yu from a few years ago, captured by a street corner camera.

What does this mean?

It means Qi Le definitely knows people with that kind of technical skill.

Just to make a minor celebrity he's keeping happy, Qi Le could go to these lengths. Who knows what else he might dig up.

So the question arises: can Fei Zhengqi really be trusted?

If Qi Le isn't a good-for-nothing, then could Fei Zhengqi, who managed to bypass Qi Le to send him this information, actually be acting under Qi Le's instructions?

However, Fei Zhengqi only wanted money. This was merely a transaction between them. Even if Fei Zhengqi had ulterior motives, it would only cost Yin Chengjue a small amount of money, which was hardly significant.

Old Master Hua's 80th birthday banquet was a major event in City A's upper-class circles. Almost all influential nobles with sufficient power and influence received invitations.

Perhaps because they had participated in the same variety show, Yin Chengjue himself received an invitation from Hua Yun. Originally, only Old Master Yin and Yin He would have received one.

Old Master Hua's face couldn't be slighted, so all three generations of the Yin family who received invitations attended. Old Master Yin went to chat with his peers, Yin He went to gossip with her socialite sisters, leaving Yin Chengjue to fend for himself.
