The Rebirth of Crazy ger Chapter 91 Part 1

Chapter 91

Wang Jin's eyes widened in surprise. Since coming to this world, although he had mostly solved the issue of meat and vegetables, desserts… aside from honey and porridge, he had never been able to find the ingredients to make pastries…

How did Cheng Bai manage it?

Wang Jin reached out and took it, too eager to care that he was still sitting on the bed. He picked up a piece and put it in his mouth. It was soft and crumbly, melting on his tongue the moment he pressed lightly. A sweet, fragrant taste spread to every corner of his mouth.

"Delicious!" Wang Jin squinted his eyes into crescents in delight, tilting his head up to give Cheng Bai a sweet smile. Cheng Bai's fingers paused, complex emotions churning in his silver eyes.

The little one in front of him had his cheeks puffed up, looking just like a little hamster… His dark, bright eyes sparkled like stars, as if he was completely satisfied just by eating sweets. That satisfaction seemed to flow through the air between them, reaching Cheng Bai, whose chest warmed, feeling inexplicably full and content.

Before this, he had thought he must have gone mad—risking danger during the beast horde to search for chestnuts on tall trees, then spending an entire day in the kitchen, something he had never done before, just to make chestnut cakes, the very treat this little one had loved since he was Xi Yao…

But now, he felt this was exactly how it should be. He was meant to dote on him like this…

The complexity in Cheng Bai's silver eyes was buried under surging emotions… His final hesitation was replaced by resolve.

"Little pampered one, I made these pastries myself." Cheng Bai's voice was low and rough, thick with emotion. But Wang Jin, who hadn’t eaten pastries in so long, was completely absorbed in the food and didn’t notice Cheng Bai’s mood at all.

He replied casually, "A-Mu once told me that beastmen, aside from roasting meat for everyone during hunts, usually only make delicate foods for their own ger."

The ordinary food from his world was considered a delicacy here… Wang Jin pursed his lips.

Cheng Bai’s eyes flashed with surprise. "You know? Then, since you’re eating my pastries…"

Cheng Bai’s words carried a hidden meaning. Wang Jin swallowed the food in his mouth and looked up at Cheng Bai, his eyes clear and bright, pure as a mirror, reflecting Cheng Bai’s hidden thoughts with nowhere to hide. Cheng Bai’s heart suddenly raced, skipping beats, as he heard the little pampered one speak in a soft, sweet voice:

"Aren’t you just delivering these for your brother?"

"……" Cheng Bai’s pounding heart slowed. These days, he had lost count of how many times he regretted his initial deception!

"Your brother and I haven’t called off the engagement yet, so it’s fine if I eat his things, right?" With a hint of uncertainty, Wang Jin dragged out the last word, revealing a trace of guilt by the end.

He held the pastry in his hands. The golden treat resting in his palms gave off an enticing sheen, its aroma irresistible, as if it were constantly tempting him, whispering, "Eat me, eat me."

Wang Jin swallowed hard, his eyes glued to it.

He stared at the pastry, as if a scale had appeared in his heart—on one side was the pastry, and on the other stood a tall, handsome man…

And he stood in the middle…

After a moment, Wang Jin seemed to make up his mind. Gritting his teeth, he shoved the pastry back into Cheng Bai’s arms.

"Take it back."

"……" Cheng Bai clutched the pastry, staring at the little pampered one.

After returning the pastry, the little one averted his eyes, but his craving hadn’t faded. His gaze kept drifting back toward the treats in Cheng Bai’s arms.

Cheng Bai was torn between laughter and exasperation. Since when was this little one such a glutton?

He pushed the pastry back into Wang Jin’s hands, sighing. "Eat it, eat it. Just pretend your friend Mu ger made it."

Wang Jin’s eyes lit up, and he happily took the pastry and started eating again.

Between bites, as if suddenly remembering something, he turned to Cheng Bai, who was sitting by the bed. "Cheng Bai, do you really want me to marry your brother that much?"

Cheng Bai froze, staring at Wang Jin in confusion, silently asking why he would say that.

Wang Jin pressed his lips together. "Putting aside how you saved my life before, you’ve given me the Qianjin Pill, followed Brother Heng to bring me glow-petal flowers, and now you’ve even made me pastries… Every single thing you’ve done has been to set things up for your brother…"

"……" Cheng Bai was momentarily speechless, his throat dry, but his heart burned with frustration.

This little pampered one—according to the people of Danmu Tribe, he was a ger who could do anything. He could weave, make clothes, craft cosmetics… Even now, the tribe’s cooking methods were all taught by him. During the beast horde, though afraid, he wasn’t weak. He dared to resist, even managed to turn desperate situations around, devising weapons to counterattack.

Listing all these things, this little one was hundreds of times smarter and stronger than before. Yet when it came to matters of the heart, he was as clueless as ever.

He believed everything Cheng Bai said!

Had it never occurred to him that Cheng Bai did all these things not for some nonexistent brother, but for him?!

"You…" Seeing Cheng Bai silent, Wang Jin carefully ventured, "…have you ever thought that maybe your brother doesn’t actually want to marry me either?"

"Nonsense!" Cheng Bai refuted in a rush, nearly biting his tongue.

Well… the little one wasn’t entirely wrong. His "brother" had no engagement with him at all. He had only ever seen the little one as a future brother-in-law, so of course he had no intention of marrying him.

But the little one didn’t know that yet… No matter what, this engagement… couldn’t be called off now…
