Chapter 39: Changing Locations
Liu Qingling and Yang Ji: "……" Alright, alright, we knew you wouldn’t do a losing business deal!
Coincidentally, the group of young, wealthy second-generation heirs had also finished exchanging pleasantries among themselves. Qin Linlin led them over to introduce everyone, and Shang Liu also brought Liu Qingling and Yang Ji to meet them.
Before the two could speak, a handsome young man dressed in hip-hop style, with a mole at the end of his eyebrow and a shiny red earring on his left ear, pointed at Liu Qingling and exclaimed, "Ah! I know you! You’re the one who acts in skits! My mom loves watching your skits! Ah, what’s your name again?"
"Dumbass! Call him Teacher Liu! On shows, everyone is called ‘teacher’ regardless of gender—we just talked about this on the way here!" A bespectacled man smacked the back of the earring-wearing guy’s head.
[In Chinese entertainment and professional settings, it's common to address people as teacher (老师, lǎoshī) as a sign of respect, even if they aren’t actual educators]
The earring guy immediately clutched his hair and wailed, "Ah! Huazi! I just got my hair done!"
Hua Yun adjusted his glasses elegantly. "Please call me Teacher Hua, thank you!"
Then, Hua Yun turned to Liu Qingling and Yang Ji and introduced, "Hello, Teachers. My name is Hua Yun. This is Wei Shu, the freeloader temporarily staying at my place. Next to him is Qin Ke, and the one at the far end is Xiao Xiao."
Liu Qingling smiled and shook hands with each of them, joking, "We’ll be in your care, Teachers."
Yang Ji also followed up by calling them "Teachers," and the atmosphere became noticeably more relaxed.
"Looks like everyone’s here." Just then, a man in black leather shoes, well-tailored suit pants, and a black shirt embroidered with a golden tiger walked over. Such an outfit could easily give off a street thug vibe, but the man’s tall, straight frame somehow made it exude the aura of a mafia boss.
The newcomer was none other than Yin Chengjue. Behind him was Rong Yu, who had rushed over early in the morning from the trainee dorm, and the young master of the Lei family, who had arrived right after.
Rong Yu was wearing a white T-shirt with a White Rabbit Creamy Candy print, paired with light blue jeans and white sneakers, looking fresh and clean.
Standing slightly behind Yin Chengjue, he peeked at the people already inside and waved with a smile.
"Xiao Leizi!"
"Xiao Weizi!"
As soon as Lei Miao saw Wei Shu, he excitedly pounced on him. Their slender frames couldn’t withstand each other’s force, so they both tumbled to the ground, messing up each other’s freshly styled hair.
Hua Yun sighed helplessly.
Qin Ke, the Second Young Master Qin, habitually raised his camera and snapped unflattering photos of the two rolling around on the ground.
Xiao Xiao smiled apologetically at the stunned Liu Qingling and Yang Ji. "Sorry about that. They’re always like this. Please take care of us today."
Liu Qingling picked his jaw up off the floor. "Ahaha, no worries, no worries."
Although Qin Linlin had suggested they wear masks to avoid potential family objections once the variety show aired, none of the attendees minded, so they skipped the prepared masks.
"Alright~ Now that everyone’s here, let’s board the bus." Qin Linlin clapped her hands cheerfully, gesturing toward the coach parked not far away.
"Huh? Aren’t we recording here?" Wei Shu, who was busy fixing his hair again, asked in surprise.
"Nope~" Qin Linlin winked mysteriously. "Don’t forget the name of our show. Of course, we need a location worthy of it for everyone to perform~"
Though Yin Chengjue knew the show’s general process, he wasn’t familiar with the specific content. Hearing Qin Linlin’s words, his interest was piqued.
