Chapter 34: Me Too
Seeing that Yin Chengjue’s expression showed none of the expected surprise, Second Young Master Qin couldn’t help feeling disappointed: "Aren’t you shocked at all?"
"What’s so strange about it?" Yin Chengjue said calmly. "I also like men."
Second Young Master Qin: ???
Leaving the bewildered Second Young Master Qin behind, Yin Chengjue fell into thought as he drove.
Coming out, huh?
The term was easy to say but hard to do.
In his past life, when Yin Chengjue came out to his family, Feng Chengda immediately roared that he would sever their father-son relationship and kicked him out of the house. It wasn’t until Yin He returned from abroad, had a huge fight with Feng Chengda, and forcibly dragged Yin Chengjue back home that things settled.
After that, Feng Chengda’s attitude toward Yin Chengjue became even colder. Ridiculously, back then, Yin Chengjue naively believed that although Feng Chengda seemed unaccepting on the surface, at least he hadn’t kicked him out again, which made him feel a little happy. He foolishly thought that one day, Feng Chengda would eventually accept his sexuality.
Looking back now, it wasn’t that Feng Chengda didn’t want to kick him out—it was that Feng Chengda feared that cutting ties with Yin Chengjue would prompt Yin He to immediately demand a divorce, ruining his long-held plans.
He wondered how Feng Chengda would react when he found out that Feng Changheng was also gay?
Yin Chengjue didn’t get to see the aftermath in his past life, but in this life, he might have another chance. Feng Chengda was no longer in mortal danger, so there was still an opportunity to witness the day Feng Changheng and Ming Qian became entangled.
On the way, he received a call from Rong Yu, saying he agreed to sign the contract. Yin Chengjue immediately turned the car around, returned to the company, picked up the agent Sally whom he had already scouted, and headed straight to the meeting place with Rong Yu.
Sally was one of Huansheng Entertainment’s top agents, having nurtured eight A-list stars. In his past life, when Ming Qian poached a large number of the company’s artists and agents, Sally remained steadfastly loyal.
She had been with Huansheng for twenty years, practically watching the company rise from its early days, and her emotional ties ran deep.
When Yin Chengjue approached her earlier about signing Rong Yu, she only needed to watch a few episodes of the debut program and do some research of her own before wholeheartedly agreeing. Since she happened to be free and not managing anyone at the time, she readily accepted when Yin Chengjue proposed assigning Rong Yu to her. The two hit it off immediately.
"I didn’t expect President Yin to seal the deal so quickly. It’s only been a few days since the trainee’s break." Sally covered her mouth with a laugh. "Did President Yin seduce him into coming?"
[Note: Sally and Yin He were old friends. She knew many of Yin Chengjue’s childhood embarrassments and privately held onto plenty of his ridiculous childhood photos.]
"Hahaha, just kidding! You’re still so easy to tease." Sally laughed so hard she swayed. "Honestly, have you ever considered debuting? Our Juejue-zi has the face of a superstar!"
Yin Chengjue: "...Say it again—no interest."
Sally: "What a shame! The entertainment industry is so dull and boring without your face gracing it!"
Yin Chengjue: "Are you implying my face looks like a joke?"
Sally widened her eyes innocently: "How could you be so harsh on yourself? Besides, if a comedian had a face like yours, it’d be a disadvantage—your looks would completely overshadow all the punchlines."
Yin Chengjue: "...We’re here! Get out!"
Hmm
