Rebirth: Spoiling the Obsessive Film Emperor Chapter 29

Chapter 29: The Argument

Feng Chengda’s years of meticulous planning were destroyed in an instant. His once-promising career now hung by a thread. While he resented and hated Yin He, he couldn’t help but also direct his anger at one of the main culprits behind this disaster—his childhood sweetheart and true love, Su Zi.

Over the years, Feng Chengda had found countless ways to funnel money to Su Zi, even putting properties under her name. None of it went through his own accounts, all to ensure that if he ever divorced Yin He, she wouldn’t get a single cent of his assets.

Feng Chengda had been feeding off Yin He to sustain Su Zi, and Su Zi, in turn, had spent vast sums maintaining her looks and figure. Even in her thirties, she remained fair-skinned, beautiful, and exuded a mature charm.

In the past, whenever Feng Chengda was in a bad mood, just seeing Su Zi kneel beside him, massaging his legs and soothing him with gentle words, would gradually calm him down. But today, that method didn’t work.

When Su Zi approached him with a plate of cut fruit, Feng Chengda didn’t even wait for her to sit before slapping the plate out of her hands. The force was so strong that the plate hit Su Zi’s face, making her cry out in pain.

The plate clattered to the floor, shattering into pieces, the cut fruit scattering everywhere.

“Chengda? You hit me?” Su Zi stared at him in disbelief.

“Damn right I hit you! If you hadn’t insisted on going to that damn shopping street, would I have been photographed? Would our affair have been exposed? I told you to just use the card and go shopping yourselves, but no, you had to drag me into it, using Ah Heng’s birthday as an excuse!”

The more Feng Chengda thought about it, the more he blamed Su Zi. If she hadn’t been so desperate to flaunt their “happy family” to others, would he have been caught? Would Yin He have been so disillusioned and heartbroken, determined to cut ties and force him out with nothing but the evidence of his infidelity?

Feng Chengda refused to admit his own mistakes, so he dumped all the blame on Su Zi, hurling insults like “jealous bitch” and “whore” at her, along with a few more slaps in his rage.

Su Zi wanted to fight back, but the force of Feng Chengda’s blows left her dizzy, her ears ringing so badly she could barely hear his curses.

By the time her hearing cleared and her mind steadied, the slaps had stopped—but the crashing noises in the room hadn’t. If anything, they’d grown louder, mixed with shouts.

Su Zi turned her head and saw that her son had come home at some point. Now, he and Feng Chengda were locked in a violent struggle, knocking over everything within reach as they fought.

“Stop it!” Su Zi cried, panic rising as she saw the shattered porcelain and glass around them—though her greater fear was for her son’s safety.

“Stop fighting! Both of you, stop!” When they ignored her, she staggered to her feet, still dizzy, and leaned on the sofa as she moved to pull Feng Chengda away.

But the sight of her only stoked Feng Chengda’s fury. The moment she got close, he kicked her to the ground.

“Mom!” Feng Changheng shouted. The resentment and anger he’d bottled up these past days—being ostracized by classmates, mocked by fair-weather friends—exploded in that instant.

Why?! Why was he the illegitimate child?

His parents were childhood sweethearts! They had loved each other first! He should have been the legitimate son!

If this man hadn’t married another woman, he wouldn’t be stuck with this despised identity!

He hated this! He hated it so much!

Eyes bloodshot, Feng Changheng grabbed the nearest object and smashed it against Feng Chengda’s head.

The sound of shattering porcelain filled the room.

Feng Chengda’s eyes widened in shock as he stared at the son he had doted on since childhood.

Even in his anger earlier, he had held back—only throwing and breaking things to intimidate Feng Changheng into backing down. But he never expected to see such raw hatred in his son’s eyes…

Blood trickled down Feng Chengda’s forehead, staining his vision red.

Feng Changheng, still clutching the half-shattered vase, watched as Feng Chengda slowly collapsed. The hatred in his eyes slowly gave way to terror.

  1. It always turns into abuse. I get that she's a homewrecker, but she doesn't deserve to get beaten by a grown man that's supposed to be her spouse.

Also, what does he mean she still looks pretty even though she's already in her 30s? Do women become senior citizens when they become older than 25? Also, did he get her pregnant when she was 15? Because her son it 18, isn't he?
