Chapter 5: A Quality Stock
Seeing Yin He staring at the photo of the mistress and the illegitimate child, a flash of killing intent flickered in her eyes. Yin Chengjue immediately grabbed her hand and said earnestly, "Mom, don’t do anything stupid for that man. It’s not worth it. You’d just turn a justified position into an unjustified one. Cut your losses, isn’t that what you taught me before?"
Yin He stiffened, then slowly shifted her gaze to Yin Chengjue.
Yin Chengjue’s face perfectly inherited all the best features of Feng Chengda and Yin He—delicate, beautiful, yet without a trace of femininity. Instead, he exuded a masculine handsomeness. Without his usual carefree demeanor, his serious expression carried a certain imposing aura.
At that moment, she finally realized clearly—her son had grown up.
"Pfft! How did my baby know what Mommy was thinking just now?" Yin He gently wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes. "Did you think Mommy wanted to get rid of that woman and her child?"
Yin Chengjue was stunned. "Wasn’t that the case?" The killing intent in your eyes was practically turning into knives.
Yin He flicked Yin Chengjue’s forehead with her fingers!
"Silly boy, do you think your mom is that brainless? There are countless ways to get revenge—why would I throw myself into the fire?" Yin He paused, pulled out a tissue, blew her nose hard, and took a deep breath. "Ah! I’m so mad! How dare he flaunt his affair so brazenly? If he’s going to keep a mistress, at least hide her properly! Instead, he parades her around like this—seems like Feng Chengda doesn’t take me seriously at all!"
Seeing that Yin He seemed to have come to her senses, Yin Chengjue quickly pressed on. "Mom, so you should divorce him ASAP. Why keep trash like him around? For New Year’s?"
"Divorce? Divorce now and just let him take the money? Not a single cent of my money or shares is leaving with him! That’s all for your future wife!" Yin He slammed the table and stood up, pulling out her phone from her bag. As she dialed a number, she said, "Leave this to Mommy. You focus on learning the ropes at the company. If there’s anything you don’t understand, ask Assistant Guan, got it?"
After subtly steering Yin He in the right direction, Yin Chengjue turned his attention to Ming Qian.
The first episode of Hey Brother, Let’s Debut! attracted a massive audience right from the start.
This was understandable—the official Weibo had released audition clips featuring only the most handsome contestants, creating the impression that this show had an exceptionally high average level of attractiveness.
So even before the show aired, many viewers had already fixated on one or several trainees’ looks, flooding the screen with excited comments.
However, this episode didn’t feature Ming Qian. Instead, the runner-up from Yin Chengjue’s past life made his appearance—and right from the start, he delivered a high-difficulty floorwork. Moving to the rhythm, he seemed to have complete control over every joint in his body, hitting every beat perfectly. At the climax of the music, he launched into a dazzling Thomas flare, electrifying the entire audience. For the finale, he executed a series of one-handed backflips, sending the crowd into a frenzy.
As the music ended, he landed steadily, one hand behind his back and the other raised high in a gentlemanly bow.
Even after the performance ended, Yin Chengjue remained stunned for a long time.
He couldn’t fathom what had possessed him in his past life to suppress such a high-quality talent—all for someone as mediocre as Ming Qian.
"Rong Yu, your performance was outstanding—no doubt an A-class. I won’t drag out the suspense here. Forced suspense just wastes time, right, production team~~" The mentor in the center was a male star with considerable influence in the dance world. The fact that Hey Brother, Let’s Debut! had managed to invite him as a judge showed how much effort they’d put in.
The camera panned to the production team, where a sign was raised: Suspense is the soul of survival shows!
The male mentor made a playful face at the camera. "See that? Your time is being stolen by suspense."
This segment wasn’t edited out, so the comments exploded with "LOLs," further cementing Rong Yu’s impression in the audience’s minds.
Though several other trainees with solid singing and dancing skills performed afterward, their styles were heavily influenced by K-pop boy groups—precise and synchronized, but lacking the explosive power of Rong Yu’s floorwork, Thomas flares, and high-skill backflips.
By the end of the first episode, Rong Yu’s performance was undoubtedly the most impressive.
Yin Chengjue rewatched Rong Yu’s segment repeatedly, when suddenly, an idea struck him.
Actually… he could just switch gears and push Rong Yu to the top, crushing Ming Qian into the mud in comparison!
After all, Rong Yu had the looks, the body, and the skills. If properly promoted, it’d be a crime if he didn’t blow up!
