The Rebirth of Crazy ger Chapter 71 Part 2

The leader returned home, and the moment he entered, he saw the person lying on the bed flip over and sit up, staring straight at him.

He walked over, supporting the struggling figure as he sat up, carefully tucking a soft cushion behind him.

"Are you feeling any better?" the leader asked.

Yue ger gave a slight nod, a faint smile appearing on his pale face before vanishing just as quickly.

"It’s fine. I just wonder... will the Rui grass be found?" Yue ger asked softly.

The leader’s movements paused. After a brief silence, he replied hoarsely, "I will definitely find it for you."

The man used the word "definitely." Without Yuan Heng, it would be impossible to find.

So... did Brother Heng agree to search for the medicine for me?

Yue ger’s eyes brightened, a sincere smile spreading across his face, bringing a touch of color back to his pallid complexion. The weakness that had plagued him for days seemed to fade in that moment, leaving only vitality behind.

"..." The leader gazed at Yue ger, his mind involuntarily recalling Wang Jin’s words.

"Think carefully, why does Yue ger always ask you to find things that are so hard to obtain?"

Whether it was fruits, meat, or now the Rui grass, none of these were within his capabilities, yet they were all demanded by the ger before him.

Each time he was asked, whether out of helplessness or because of this person’s reminders, he ended up seeking Yuan Heng’s help…

That lunatic was right.

Why did the person before him insist on making him search for such hard-to-find things?

He clearly knew he couldn’t find them… and had to rely on Yuan Heng’s strength…

The leader’s knuckles twitched slightly as his eyes fixed intently on Yue ger, who looked exceedingly happy. Unable to hold back, he asked, “Are you happy?”

Yue ger was taken aback by the question, then heard the leader’s stiff voice continue, “Because Yuan Heng agreed to help find the herbs? What you really want—is it for me to find them for you, or for Yuan Heng?”

Yue ger’s heart skipped a beat. A ger would only ever ask his own beastman to fetch things… For the leader to ask this way, wasn’t he essentially questioning whether he wanted him or Yuan Heng as his beastman…

Why would he suddenly ask such a thing?

Yue ger grew wary. He pretended to be weak, coughing twice, and in the moment he lowered his head to catch his breath, he concealed all his emotions. When he looked up again, his expression was one of pitiful frailty, as if tormented by illness.

“You… why would you say that… You’re my beastman. Of course, I can only ask you for what I want,” Yue ger said softly.

The leader pressed his lips together. “But you were happy to hear the Rui grass could be found.”

This man clearly knew he couldn’t find the Rui grass, only Yuan Heng could…

Yue ger coughed lightly, lowering his gaze to hide the growing shadow in his eyes.

When this man left earlier, he hadn’t had such doubts.

Has Brother Heng told him something when he went to see him?

No, Brother Heng never speaks out of turn…

Then that means… it was that lunatic…

A flash of ruthlessness passed through Yue ger’s eyes, but in an instant, it melted into delicate fragility.

“Is it wrong… for me to be happy? Aren’t you happy for me, Leader? If the Rui grass is found, my illness can be cured. Don’t you… want me to get better?”

His questioning came between soft, heartbroken sobs, as if deeply wounded.

The leader’s heart ached. “Of course I want you to get better. It’s just… couldn’t the healer treat you as well?”

At this, Yue ger’s sobs didn’t cease, but he repeated his old excuse.

“The healer is too old now to make house calls. Xi ger… Xi ger and I had a misunderstanding before. I still don’t know how to explain it to him. I… I just don’t know how to face him…”

When it came to health, what could possibly be so hard to face?

The leader had been easily swayed by Yue ger’s words before, but now, after what Wang Jin said, a seed of doubt had been planted in his heart. Only then did he realize how illogical Yue ger’s excuse was…

He stayed silent, but Yue ger cried so hard he seemed on the verge of passing out, his broken sobs making the leader’s heart twist in pain.

Looking at the ger curled up on the bed, trembling with tears, the leader’s fingers twitched as he reached out to comfort him, but his hand froze just before touching him…

After a long pause, his fingers curled back, and the leader withdrew his hand. He shook his head at Yue ger, then turned and left without a word.

“……” Yue ger stared blankly at the retreating figure, even his sobs forgotten.

Since their marriage, the leader had obeyed his every word. A few tears from him would make his heart ache unbearably. Yet now, even after crying like this, the man remained unmoved…

Just what had Wang Jin told the leader?!

Yue ger’s face darkened, his fingers clenching tightly into the hide beneath him, twisting it into wrinkles.

I'll kill Wang Jin. I must kill him!
