Rebirth of the Useless Young Master’s Counterattack Chapter 54

Chapter 54: Another Business Opportunity

Mu Lichuan considered himself low-key and hadn’t done anything outrageous at school. So why did some government officials know he was a "superstitious practitioner"? Someone was definitely targeting him.

"Please watch your tone." Mu Lichuan's voice was soft, but an icy aura radiated from him.

Perhaps his face was too deceiving, many people underestimated him. But it also gave him a certain advantage in misleading others.

"I can sue you for slander!" Before the man could respond, Mu Lichuan emphasized coldly.

Qi Wei and the others shrank back, afraid of provoking Young Master Mu. After witnessing his abilities, they knew people like him were eccentric and hard to deal with.

Yuan Dacheng wiped sweat from his forehead and hurriedly said, "The bribery has nothing to do with Young Master Mu. I’ll cooperate, but why trouble a middle school student?" His words carried a clear warning.

The anti-corruption officers were intimidated by Mu Lichuan’s sharp gaze. They had assumed he was just a delusional kid, but now they realized this young master was not to be trifled with. "Since he’s just a student, there’s no need to involve him." They quickly backed down.

Mu Lichuan wanted to know why they recognized him. If this wasn’t resolved, more trouble would follow. "Why do you know who I am?"

Even though Master Zhang had invited him before, he hadn’t done anything noteworthy, just destroyed a tree. He thought those people were a disorganized mess, lacking even basic unity. Of course, if their organization grew too powerful, the government would never allow such a group to operate outside their control.

"We all have pamphlets warning against superstition, and you’re listed as a ‘misguided youth who returned to the right path.’" The man explained, feeling his authority crumbling before a teenager.

Mu Lichuan almost laughed. "The propaganda department did this?" He found it strange that someone would use him this way. Becoming "famous" like this was never his intention.

"Not sure." The previously arrogant officer now spoke meekly, surprising his colleagues.

Mu Lichuan nodded and let them leave. Yuan Dacheng’s construction site issue was resolved, and whether he bribed officials was none of his concern. As for whoever was using his name, he’d track them down eventually.

Yuan Chengzhi, worried about his father, was restless but still respectfully escorted Mu Lichuan out. The payment would be transferred once his father was released.

Mu Lichuan found his soul power incredibly convenient. An ordinary feng shui master would need many tools and time to dismantle a Yin Sha Array, but he could do it instantly. The downside? His mental energy was nearly drained. Unless necessary, he wouldn’t push himself like this again.

"Let’s check the old courtyard." Hands in his pockets, Mu Lichuan spoke to Xiao Mo.

He still didn’t know where the spirit in his spiritual sea came from or why it sought its body. But one thing was certain - he knew many secrets and possessed treasures. Without it, he’d have been stuck as a "useless waste" after rebirth.

What was happening with the Mu family now? And what about Chuan City? He hadn’t inquired, afraid of drawing attention. If people connected him to the Mu family of Chuan City, things could get complicated.

The courtyard looked unchanged from the outside, its gates tightly shut. Mu Lichuan frowned, unsure whether to climb the wall. But then he sensed eyes on him, someone was watching this place. The moment anything happened, the police would arrive.

Mu Lichuan lowered his head, waiting for the watcher to reveal themselves, then quickly grabbed him as he peeked out. "Who are you? What’s your goal?" He doubted anyone would tail him personally, unless they wanted to use him against Master Zhang’s group.

"Kid, what goal could I have? Let go first!" The man, clearly a hired thug, was the one who had called the police.

Mu Lichuan sneered. "Fine, I’ll hand you over to the police." Some people only learned through suffering.

"Wait! I-I was just told to watch this place and report if anyone gathered here. That’s all!" The middle-aged man stammered, shocked by the boy’s strength.

Knowing he wouldn’t get more info, Mu Lichuan let him go. Glancing at the locked gates one last time, he turned and left.

At the same time, a woman spat out blood - a backlash from her spell. Her face paled as someone rushed to support her.

The woman, beautiful with tightly pressed red lips, had thoroughly researched the occult forces in the capital. Given the target’s connections, he shouldn’t have been able to hire a hidden expert. So who ruined her array?

"Miss Chen, are you alright?" The man assisting her looked worried.

"The array was destroyed by a formidable method. Investigate who did this," Miss Chen said coldly.

The man froze. "How… how is that possible? The array shouldn’t be breakable!"

"Are you questioning me?" Her gaze turned piercing. "Tell your boss this land is lost. Find out what expert has appeared in the capital."

"N-No, of course not!" The man bowed his head. This master was introduced by the old man, her name was Chen Ying. He had coveted the land but lost it to Yuan Dacheng’s schemes. Resentful, he lied to Chen Ying, claiming the old man wanted it for its auspicious feng shui.

Everything had been going smoothly, Yuan Dacheng was on the verge of collapse. But now, even Chen Ying was powerless. His revenge would have to wait.

The capital’s waters ran deep. He had acted only after confirming Yuan Dacheng had no mystical support. Now, he’d have to retreat and investigate before making another move.

Chen Ying was stunned to learn a teenager had dismantled the array, as she'd instructed against any rash actions. With her foundation damaged, she needed time to recover.

Unaware of these events, Mu Lichuan continued attending school, training his body, and absorbing trace spiritual energy to break through to Qi Refining’s second layer.

Yuan Dacheng’s case wasn’t major by the capital’s standards, but certain interested parties took note, especially of the rising star behind the resolution.

Yuan Dacheng had a friend, Lao He, whose recent project faced inexplicable disasters. He had been too preoccupied with his own troubles earlier, but now he called to lend a hand.

"Lao He, heard you’ve hit some snags?" Having once doubted mysticism himself, Yuan Dacheng now believed.

"Don’t ask. The project’s cursed, even my daughter got into a car accident." Exhaustion laced He Chen’s voice.

"Did you consult anyone about it?" Unlike Yuan Dacheng's single plot, He Chen was developing an entire mountain into luxury villas.

"I did, I paid a feng shui master over ten million for a half-month of 'adjustments,' but saw no improvement. As a man of science, I find it hard to accept, but something definitely feels off." He Chen sounded defeated. Since taking the project, everything went wrong, even his wife fell down the stairs and was hospitalized. His family was crumbling.

Yuan Dacheng sighed. "Lao He, at first I was skeptical too. My son’s classmate introduced a young master to me, and the problem solved instantly. Want me to arrange a meeting?"

After a pause, He Chen decided, "Do it!" At worst, he’d be scammed again.

When Mu Lichuan returned home, a luxury car waited outside. Qi Wei greeted him with flattery. "Young Master Mu, brought you another client!"

"Sure you’re not a pimp?" Mu Lichuan teased him.

"Hey, I know you’re the real deal!" Qi Wei grinned.

Mu Lichuan was pleased with the power of faith he’d accumulated. Glancing at the new client, he smirked. "Him? His troubles are practically glowing." The man’s forehead was darker than any he’d seen, this would be interesting.
