Rebirth with the Beast Chapter 107 Part 1

 Chapter 107

As soon as the two of them stepped out, they heard voices coming from the yard. Su Yi walked to the window and saw a group of people gathered outside.

“What are you all doing here?” Su Yi called out.

The others immediately turned to look at him. Most of them were unfamiliar faces, newcomers to the valley.

One of the females stepped forward cautiously and said, “Su Yi, we have something we would like to discuss with you.”

Su Yi walked out of the house and sat down at the stone table, with Sinoer following close behind.

The female then spoke slowly, “We all know that Redra was seriously injured not long ago, but he recovered completely in just a few days. My child is also a young orc. During the attack by the wandering orcs, he was badly hurt and has been weak ever since.”

At this point, Su Yi understood what they were getting at.

In fact, everyone probably knew that Su Yi had also been severely injured before, only to reappear completely unharmed. However, they were wary of Su Yi and hadn’t brought up his situation.

Su Yi smiled and said, “That was just a coincidence. I thought I was going to die, but I happened to find a special herb. At the time, I didn’t know what it did, but it looked unique, so I thought, ‘I’m going to die anyway,’ and just shoved it into my mouth.”

Sinoer silently watched as Su Yi lied without batting an eye. If Sinoer hadn’t known the truth, he might have believed Su Yi’s story, given how serious he looked.

Someone else chimed in doubtfully, “But Jill said that after Sinoer took you away, you suddenly disappeared.”

Su Yi remained calm and replied, “At that time, I asked Sinoer to take me away. Later, when I realized I might die, I didn’t want Sinoer to see me die, so I begged him to leave me alone. I wanted to die quietly by myself.”

Su Yi’s emotional storytelling moved the simple-minded females to tears.

Su Yi sighed inwardly, thinking how easy it was to deceive people in this primitive society.

“Then… what did the herb look like? Maybe we can go out and look for it?” the female persisted, still fixated on the herb.

Su Yi had no choice but to make something up. To prevent them from finding a similar plant, he described it in an exaggerated, almost mythical way.

After some thought, they concluded that perhaps Su Yi was destined to survive, and the orc gods had granted him this herb.

Although they were disappointed, they became even more convinced that the original members of the valley were blessed by the Beast God. Otherwise, Su Yi wouldn’t have recovered from his severe injuries, and Tang Yu wouldn’t have gotten pregnant so easily.

After they left, Su Yi turned to Sinoer. “Aren’t you curious why I didn’t give them the thing?”

“You have your reasons. I also don’t want to help them. If we help one, we’ll have to help two. If people knew you had such an ability, they'd never stop bothering us.”

Su Yi was surprised that Sinoer was so perceptive and could think so far ahead.

Since the snow season had arrived, every household was busy preparing. They needed to gather more food, as it would become much harder to find once the first snow fell.

Even Mino’s family began drying meat and pickling vegetables for storage.

Su Yi set up a small vegetable garden outside his house, using simple stone borders to prevent people from accidentally stepping on it.

To keep up with the others, Su Yi also started drying meat and continued stocking his cellar.

Perhaps the hoarding behavior was contagious, as Dino had been dragging things back home these days. Among the items were edible-looking plants, thick branches, and even some strange objects.

Su Yi noticed a peculiar stone among the items. He picked it up and felt its weight. The stone was lighter than ordinary rocks and had a strange texture.

The stone was a pale red color and looked quite beautiful, like red crystal. Su Yi decided to use it to make decorations for their furniture.

Seeing that Su Yi liked the stone, Dino immediately dashed off again.

Su Yi tried to stop him, but Dino was already gone. Su Yi had only thought the stone looked nice, but Dino returned hours later with a fur bag slung over his back, a bag he had grabbed on his way out.

Su Yi sighed and took the bag from Dino. Dino wagged his tail, his eyes fixed on Su Yi, as if waiting for praise.

Not wanting to disappoint the child, Su Yi smiled and said, “Well done!”

Satisfied, Dino happily went back inside.

Because of the cold weather, Su Yi and his family no longer ate outside. Recently, Eli seemed to have caught Tang Yu’s habits, not only was he afraid of the cold, but he also started sleeping a lot.

Sinoer explained that Eli was about to transform into his human form, so he needed to conserve his energy.

Su Yi felt a pang of nervousness, suddenly experiencing the feeling of being a first-time father.

That evening, Su Yi made an exciting discovery. The strange stone Dino had brought back earlier actually glowed in the dark. This revelation delighted Su Yi. A stone that could emit light at night would save them the trouble of using fire for lighting, which was always a hassle.

The next morning, Su Yi eagerly got up to make a lamp similar to a table lamp.

For the lamp’s main material, Su Yi chose wood. Since wood was easy to carve, Su Yi could create different-sized grooves to fit the stones.

By the time the first lamp was finished, it was already dark. Sinoer took the lamp from Su Yi’s hands, stopping him from continuing. Su Yi had been hunched over all day, and Sinoer was starting to feel concerned.

Reluctantly, Su Yi shifted his gaze from the lamp on the ground to Sinoer.

Since the last time Su Yi and Sinoer failed to complete their intimate moment in the space, the two of them had been living a more restrained life. The main reason was that Eli was about to transform, and they couldn’t help but worry. For several days, they had Eli stay in their room.

At this moment, Su Yi looked up and met Sinoer’s gaze. The two of them slowly leaned closer. Just as they were about to kiss, the door suddenly rattled.

It was Dino’s voice from outside. “Mother, Father, are you asleep?”

Su Yi pulled back, coughed lightly, and then went to open the door.

Dino rarely disturbed them at night, so this was the first time. Su Yi looked at Dino in surprise. Dino’s face was slightly red as he said, “Um, Mother, this afternoon, a young female asked me if I wanted to make a contract with him…”

As he spoke, Dino’s voice grew softer and smaller.

Su Yi was stunned for a moment, then looked at Dino, who was still just a kid.

Are the children in the orc world maturing too early? A contract between children is essentially a precursor to a partnership between adults.

Su Yi never expected that his son would get involved in an early romance at such a young age.

As a future flower of the motherland, getting into a relationship so early was not right. Su Yi decided to find out which child had the audacity to flirt with his son at such a young age.

[future flower of the motherland: a metaphorical expression often used in Chinese culture to refer to young children or the younger generation. It symbolizes hope, potential, and the idea that children are the future of the nation, much like flowers that will bloom and bring beauty and vitality to the land]
