Su Yi had Sinoer capture different prey to conduct experiments one by one. He discovered that as long as the prey had even a breath of life left, the pool water could revive them. However, the speed of recovery varied depending on the severity of their injuries.
Later, Su Yi even experimented with dead prey. Although he already knew it was impossible to bring the dead back to life, he couldn’t resist trying. As expected, the prey did not wake up.
Although the miraculous pool water couldn’t achieve resurrection, Su Yi was still overjoyed by its capabilities.
Afterward, they slightly diluted the pool water and fed it to the prey. They found that the diluted water had significantly reduced effects, but it also eliminated the intense pain and discomfort.
To confirm the efficacy, Su Yi experimented on himself. As he had expected, the diluted water lessened the pain. Small animals only needed a tiny amount of the diluted liquid to heal their wounds. After healing, the scars or dead skin would gradually fade. However, the healing process caused some itching.
Sinoer looked at the water Su Yi had poured into a clay jar. “Is this what saved you?”
Su Yi smiled, took the jar from Sinoer’s hands, and handed it to Tang Yu.
“This is for you, just in case.”
After saying this, Su Yi turned back to Sinoer. “Yes, this is it.”
Tang Yu examined the clay jar and tightly sealed it with a wooden stopper.
“Does this count as a lifesaving charm from you? I think I can make more small jars to store this water when I get back.”
“You can give me some as a return gift,” Su Yi couldn’t help but laugh.
At that moment, it began to rain again.
Su Yi helped Tang Yu wrap himself in animal hides. After storing the prey, the two climbed onto Sinoer’s back.
“Looks like it’s going to rain. Let’s find Jells and catch up with the main group,” Su Yi said, pulling Tang Yu close. Sinoer immediately flew in the direction Jells had gone.
They didn’t have to fly far before they found Jells, who had gathered a lot of fruit.
Seeing Tang Yu on Sinoer’s back, Jells suddenly felt annoyed and let out a low growl at Sinoer.
Sinoer, however, didn’t mind Jells’ attitude and simply turned to fly in the direction of the main group.
Su Yi looked back at Jells. “Your partner is really possessive.”
Tang Yu also turned his head. Wrapped up like a rice dumpling, he could only catch a glimpse of Jells’ massive figure through the gaps.
“I should probably go back to Jells. I’m afraid he might start a fight with Sinoer if he gets too angry.”
Su Yi burst out laughing. “Haha, Tang Yu, you’re such a worrywart. As long as you’re on Sinoer’s back, Jells won’t dare to cause trouble.”
Su Yi found the situation amusing, feeling as if he was holding the emperor hostage to command the lords. By taking Tang Yu with him, he figured Jells would have to obey.
Later, they caught up with the main group but received troubling news: the group seemed to be preparing to execute an orc.
“What’s going on?” Su Yi jumped off Sinoer’s back and landed next to Ed.
Ed frowned, but before he could speak, someone else interrupted.
The speaker was a young orc, emaciated and frail.
“Please, don’t kill him. I can take him with me.” Su Yi recognized this young orc. He was the one who had been lost by a female earlier. When Su Yi had found him, he was with an unknown orc who appeared to be a teenager.
“Who are they planning to kill?” Su Yi asked as he walked forward. The other orcs automatically made way for him.
The young orc rushed toward Su Yi and suddenly knelt at his feet, startling Su Yi.
“He won’t harm the females, I swear. There must be some misunderstanding. Please, save him.”
Looking at the tearful child, Su Yi gently patted his head. “Alright, tell me what happened, slowly.”
From yesterday until now, Su Yi and the others had been busy hunting prey along the way, so they hadn’t been able to keep up with the main group’s situation for nearly two days.
Su Yi had assumed that with Ed and Hunter around, there wouldn’t be any major issues. However, he had clearly overestimated their abilities.
“Here’s what happened. This unknown orc was covered in injuries, so he was placed with the females on the orcs’ backs. Since he was injured, no one thought it was a big deal for him to be with the females. But during the journey, it seems he did something inappropriate, causing a female to fall off an orc’s back.”
It was Rui La who explained the situation. Over the past few days, he had been tending to the injured, including the young unknown orc. In Rui La’s opinion, the young orc didn’t seem like the type to cause trouble.
However, everyone had seen the female fall off the orc’s back for no apparent reason, so something must have happened.
“Which female?” Su Yi asked calmly.
Su Yi remembered that the unknown orc seemed to have feelings for the young orc standing before him.
Rui La pointed to a female not far away. She was nestled in an orc’s arms, seemingly crying with her head lowered.
Su Yi recalled that these females had been taken by wandering orcs. When they were rescued, none of the orcs had mentioned that any of these females were their mates. But now, in just a few short days, this female had already formed a quasi-mate relationship with one of the orcs.
Su Yi smiled, a hint of helplessness flashing across his face. He had thought that the individuals who had recklessly run out of the cave earlier had already filtered out those with ill intentions among the remaining group. But now, it seemed Su Yi had been too naive.
Su Yi couldn’t understand people like this. In his original world, one of his colleagues had met a woman through a matchmaking session. Within two days of meeting, the woman was already openly affectionate with his colleague.
If Su Yi hadn’t known they had just met, he would have thought they were an old married couple.
If it were a case of love at first sight, Su Yi couldn’t see how his colleague, who wasn’t particularly handsome or wealthy, could have inspired such instant devotion. However, it was true that his colleague’s family was well-off.
So, when Su Yi saw this female acting so intimately with an orc so quickly, he instinctively felt disgusted.
“Here’s what we’ll do. Right now, our priority is to keep moving. Let’s put aside any other troubles and settle everything once we’re safely back. How does that sound?” Su Yi proposed. Although some had objections, no one openly refuted him.
